The moment I stepped into the room, I was hit by a wave of disappointment. The sight that greeted me was nothing short of appalling. There was hair—not just a stray or two—in the bathtub but scattered all over the bedding, as if the previous guest had a contest with their own locks. The pillow was another horror story entirely; it was yellowed with stains, a grim reminder of countless unwashed nights.
Feeling utterly dismayed, I made my way back to the front desk to voice my concerns. Surely, they would understand the gravity of the situation and provide me with a better room. But I was met with the disappointing news that no rooms were available until the following morning.
Just when I thought my night couldn't get worse, the kindness of a staff member at the front desk handed me a set of clean sheets for the night. Though it wasn't the solution I had hoped for, I was grateful to have something to sleep on that didn’t resemble a makeshift horror show.
