Old Montreal Apartment TOO Loud at night
Our family of 5 adults stayed at this VRBO for 5 nights (including one long weekend). Based upon the location of the apartment I was very excited. It is just down the block from Notre Dame Church in Old Montreal. Unfortunately, on 3 of the 5 evenings at the apartment we were kept awake for most of the night by very loud Electronic Dance Music, and very loud talking (even screaming) by people partying in the street just outside our apartment. Upon investigation we discovered that the Philemon Bar was just below our apartment in the basement of the building we were staying in. (our unit was on the 2nd floor) This bar stayed open until 3am nightly. And many people stayed there until closing time and continued the party on the street until 3:30am. Our apartment had many large windows and the noise easily came in our windows and through the floor and kept our entire party awake! I would suggest people consider very carefully before you reserve a stay at this Old Montreal Apartment.

Great with big group but very noisy outside at night
Great location, spacious and clean. Only negative is that at night (probably mostly weekends) it can get very loud outside and won’t stop until 4-5am.
