We checked out prior to our reservation and moved to a different hotel, even though we couldn’t get the refund and had to pay extra. That says quite a lot about our experience.
The property was not in a good, clean condition. And it was noisy and smelled like bad paint lingering around, even tho the property looked like been there for a while because the walls, window shades, furniture etc looked pretty worn out. There is no air ventilation, but couldn’t keep the windows open to let fresh air in because it was noisy. Even with everything shut, we were woken up by the noise outside at 5am, after a long day of driving. Brought it up to the staff, who was nice but they couldn’t do anything about it.
We wrote again on the same day about the conditions and asked about canceling the reservation on the same day but didn’t get answer until late that night. At that point, it was already another night spent. But we booked a different hotel for our last night in Montreal and moved out first thing in the morning.
When you take a trip, especially if you drive, sleep is everything. We couldn’t afford waking up at 5am after long days and sleeping in uncomfortable conditions. Would definitely not come back.
Parking - not onsite. The closest one belongs to the Uni across the street, open from 5am to midnight. And subject to limited availabilities.
