The pride of ownership is obvious at this cute vintage motel. Our room was spotless. The beds and pillows were very comfy. There was a cute patio to enjoy the nice evening air. And we really appreciated the grassy area for our doggy. It was well maintained and very well lit. It was a very pleasant overnight stay on our way from Texas to Colorado, and we will definitely stay here again when traveling through. Highly recommend for an inexpensive and dog friendly stay!

I think this was the cleanest motel I have ever been to. On old Route 66 so loved the older style. Beds comfortable and very nice sitting area on side of motel. Felt safe. Only issue was that I was told my credit card wasn’t working right so had to pay cash. It worked fine the whole trip so not sure what the deal was. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again and great alternative from staying in unsafe Albuquerque! Left my glasses and son left a shirt and they had it waiting for me on the return trip which was awesome.

This was an amazing stay! We checked in and were given a snack bag for breakfast that weren't pretty sure had homemade muffins. We came in from a long drive and were able to check in right away. The hotel had a list of all the restaurants in the area and let us know how long they're open daily. We gor a list of the TV stations. (The previous hotel did not have a TV guide on the remote. We were never given a list of stations.) The hotel is quiet. We did not hear the highway. The bathroom was a good size - spacious.

We were on a cross-country road trip moving with our two cars, three people, and two dogs. If you need to stop somewhere around the Albuquerque area, this is a far better option! So here are the pros: The Gentlemen that checked us in the front office was extremely accommodating and friendly. He had a bag of fruit and pastries ready for us for our breakfast the next morning. This Motel is repainted and fully restored on the outside is a great condition and looks like it’s rather stuck in the 60s, but I love that vibe. The inside of the rooms Contained old furniture but in good condition, comfortable beds, and a clean bathroom, complete with a rubber ducky! Cons: my singular complaint that the carpet had many stains. I understand that this is a pet friendly motel so things happen. If you want to keep with the 60s vibe, rip out the carpet and put an old-school linoleum and put a doormat in front of the doors to wipe your feet and your rooms would be perfection and you could clean and sanitize the floors. There was a large pet facility area, a nice outdoor patio where we ate our dinner, and Chairs throughout to sit outside and relax with or without your pup. Overall, it was definitely one of our better stays on our coast to Coast road trip from California to South Carolina. I would stay here again.

This is our second year staying at the Sunset Motel. The owners are very nice, pleasant people. The staff is great, rooms clean and well cared for. The grounds are clean and inviting. We will be back.

Our stay was Great ! We arrived about 10 pm and was greeted wonderfully and questions were answered . We had a dog traveling with us and was given a blanket for the the dog to sleep on so dog hair would not clog the laundry . Great idea. Dog area was also available and poop bags also provided. Morning breakfast of pastry and fruit was Great! Will definitely stay here again !!

Google maps kept sending us to wrong address, but after 45 minutes of frustration the front desk lady was sweet and so apologetic. She said about 5 people a week have that issue. Older place, but nicely decorated. Rooms need and large. We did have a sock and vacuum attachment under bed in one room. (4 year old was under everything). We liked it and would stay again. Very quiet even tho close to I-40

This is a historic hotel. The gentleman at the desk was great. This hotel did not say it came with breakfast but we were given fruit and homemade pastry’s for breakfast when we arrived. Vintage place but very clean and fun.

This property and the staff who work at it are true gems. You will be hard pressed to find a cleaner motel. Everything was spotless. We stayed in a pet friendly room and though the carpet was well worn it never felt dirty. There were lots of little added touches that made it feel welcoming. The grass area for the dogs is great. I always dread staying in Albuquerque because it seems so depressing. I wish I had known about Moriarty and the Sunset Hotel sooner. We will definitely be back.

This is a very nice place for so many reasons. It has a vintage look, but definitely not run down. Everything was kept up and beautiful. There's a nice grassy area for the dogs that's well lit and has bags and a garbage can. The towels were nice and thick and the beds had white bedspreads and sheets that were spotless. There were Hershey kisses on the nightstand and a little rubber duck on the bathtub. There was even a Keurig machine. The owner checked me in and was very friendly and helpful. She gave me a paper with suggestions on where to eat with information on each place and the list of channels for the tv. Breakfast was a bag with fruit and homemade pastry. I haven't eaten it yet because I'm writing this before breakfast but the pastries look amazing! I would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

A very friendly hostess greeted us at a late hour. She gave us a bag of pastries and a couple of oranges for our 1 night stay. The property is old, but well maintained. It has budget friendly retro charm.
