I find this hotel very relaxing. Majority of the food has been lovely and they cater really well for GLUTEN-FREE diets for Ceoliacs. On this occasion only stayed for 1 night but will definitely stay again.

Nice hotel but the bin in the room had not been emptied. I don’t like the idea of having to choose what you want for breakfast the night before. At breakfast there was just one staff member serving breakfast. Tables were full of dirty pots and it took a long time for meals to be served

Lovely stay...
We stayed here for a few days. The hotel was welcoming on a cold afternoon and once we settled in, we headed to the bar for drinks and eats. In the end we bought 2 bottles of wine and we had starters. Nice food well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately we did report to the guy on reception that we found what looked like smashed glass outside a room when we walked past. The next day it was still there, we did then tell the cleaner the following morning, who picked it up as in the end it was plastic. The rooms and main arwas were clean but the corridors to and from our room were not hoovered while we were there. We did enjoy our stay and will stay again. Its proximity to glasgow is great and very easy to get to. Unfortunately it wasnt until I got home that I seen that instead of 2 bottles of wine I was charged 3, so in future I would check my bill mor thoroughly... wouldnt deter me returning, we all make mistakes and I did sign and pay the bill.

It was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The property is beautiful as was my room. It was very quiet as well. The hotel is 5 min away from the train station making it very convenient to travel to Glasgow or Edinburg. If I ever find a way to make it back to Scotland, this will be the hotel I stay in.

Conveniently Located with Friendly Staff
Conveniently located with easy access to all of the Central Belt comes with the downside of being on a busy noisy road. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are fairly low grade but very filling! Rooms and furnishings are a little tired.

A very pleasant restful stay
Very friendly staff, we were able to drop our bag off a few hours before check in and when we returned check in was very straightforward forward and we were asked to complete our choice for breakfast for the following morning which I think is a great idea. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom was lovely and clean too. Plenty of lighting options in the room, well stocked coffee and tea, bottles of water, cookies and a nice touch the caramel wafer biscuits. The bed was very comfortable, good quality bed linen and pillows and the bath towels were nice and fluffy and bright white. We were visiting family locally so did not eat at the hotel that evening but we did call in for a drink later that night, tables were very clean and prices reasonable. Lauren was extremely pleasant at breakfast, we were shown to a table within a few seconds of arriving to breakfast, tea and coffee brought to the table in the first minute and we didn’t have long to wait for our breakfast to arrive, which was a good quality Scottish breakfast. I have to say both myself and husband believe Lauren is an asset to the team, she was very smart and friendly. We will definitely choose The Moorings on our next visit to our family in the area.

Great location
The room was on the ground floor next to a unlocked housekeeping room. It was very untidy the light in the hall was faulty so flickered all the time. You could hear staff going in and out of the doors through out the night to the kitchen etc. The hotel is well located and the staff super friendly. We had both dinner and breakfast the cooked breakfast was excellent.
