Very quiet & serene
This house was a great base for our exploration of “Mayberry” and several of the local wineries. It’s in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end street surrounded by woods and we were lucky enough to be there in October when the tree colors were peaking. We also enjoyed seeing the deer wandering around in the front and back yards. The remodeled bathroom was great and beds were comfortable. The hostess Michelle was very responsive to our questions and she was also nice enough to ship me a few things I accidentally left in the closet.

Great little house near heart of Mt Airy
My husband and I rented this property as a "getting ready" place for him prior to our wedding at a nearby venue, and it was perfect. We also stayed there after our wedding so we wouldn't have to drive back down Hwy 52 late at night after a long, tiring day. The house was incredibly clean and exactly as described in the ad. As a sweet bonus, the owners even had a trail of roses laid out for us as a wonderful surprise for being newlyweds. That was an incredibly sweet, unexpected gesture that just shows these are the type of owners who care about their guest experience. My husband and I have even talked about renting this property in the future since it's so near downtown Mt Airy and closer to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a weekend getaway. The house is easy to get to and is within a close drive from the main highway leading into Mt Airy.

This property was everything that the owners describe in the listing. I worry about renting in a neighborhood because we never know what type of neighbors will be there. However, it didn’t feel like the neighbors existed at all. It was so quiet and peaceful. Sitting on the back porch and laying in the hammock were an amazing part of our stay. The whole home was easily accessible and very clearly marked indicating where we could fine things. The check out instructions were super easy and clear. This gets bonus points because sometimes owners leave very detailed, difficult instructions that make our stay worse. The location is absolutely perfect. It was just a few minutes drive to Mayberry and a few minutes drive to pilot mountain. We had everything that we needed within a short distance while at the same time feeling like we were removed from any tourism hustle and bustle. We have even talked about making this an annual trip as long as we can stay at the same place each time. 😁

Relaxing Weekend Get-a-Way
Cozy, clean and comfortable home. I was pleasantly surprised to find it tucked away in a quiet country neighborhood on a dead-end street! I felt safe walking my pup any time of day/night! The host was helpful and accommodating, and responded quickly to any message. I could tell a lot of work was put into all the little "extras" around the home. From breakfast bars and coffe, to little notes left around the house to mKe everything easy to find/use. Would definitely stay here again!

Good place for a quick get-away
Stayed here for two nights for just a quick getaway. We usually cook -- but too short of a trip this time! The kitchen seemed very well stocked... even with a crockpot, air fryer, and blender! Everything seemed clean and in working order. You do enter on a landing and choose to go up a set of stairs to the bedrooms, or down the stairs to the living room/kitchen area. About 6-7 steps each way. Wasn't an issue for us - but just be aware. Neighborhood was quiet and on a dead end street. A bit out of the way and not within walking distance to anything. Beds and linens were comfortable. Not much of a yard, and it would take a bit of bushwacking to get to the fire pit as it was pretty overgrown. Beautiful front deck, but no table/chairs to enjoy. Soggy hammock on the back deck and two chairs that weren't really comfortable. Would be nice to have some loungey-type furniture to enjoy the outside space more! Every single room also had some type of plug-in airfreshner that was totally overwhelming - we pulled them all and then left for a few hours because it instantly gave me a headache (plugged them all back in when we left). There is also a lack of floor lamps and bedside lamps, or even anything to set your luggage on in the bedrooms except the floor.

Great get away!
Took a few days w a friend to explore Mount Airy and the surrounding hiking spots. This house was in a good location to easily access all we wanted to do. House felt welcoming, clean, and is on a quiet street. The back of the lot is along a slightly busier road but the lot is wooded and up a steep hill so you can’t see the road and the car noise wasn’t bothersome to me sitting on the deck w my morning coffee.

This was our first time using VRBO, we didn't know what to expect. Michelle was fabulous. She answered all of my question without hesitation. The house was very clean and smelled amazing! There was chilled water in the fridge waiting for us and coffee and snacks too! She even left our sweet dog a toy! We plan on staying here again!
