Beautiful farm home in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the base of historic Scull (Skull) Camp Mountain and next to a beautiful peach orchard. Pet friendly. 4 miles off I 77. A peaceful environment with solitude and yet easy access to I-77 and amenities such as numerous restaurants - the best of both worlds. In a step back in time the home is bordered by fields and hundreds of acres of forested mountain land. Ten miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Twelve miles from the original "Mayberry" (Mt. Airy) with lots of tours, restaurants, shopping. Within 30 minutes to several vineyards, including 4 miles to Round Peak vineyard and 14 miles to Shelton vineyard. Birdwatching stations. Amenities include high speed fiber optics internet. The upstairs "loft" is a fun room equipped with a home theatre with projection tv.

Trip to “Mayberry”
This farmhouse is precious! Most peaceful relaxing trip we have had with our parents who are in their 80’s!! Enjoyed the downtown tours shopping and eating! Best was going back to the farmhouse and sitting on the great front porch!

This cute little farmhouse takes you back in time. Property was very clean and there was plenty of room for our dog to run around. It is rustic but worked well for our family of 5.

Wonderful Restored Farm House in the Country
Very cute, fully-restored farm house in the country. Up-to-date appliances, excellent communication with property owners. Comfortable beds, sofas, rockers. TVs provided plenty of options for our age group. A very pleasant stay.

Peaceful and no frills
Plenty of space out back for the pup to roam supervised (as there is still a but of traffic on the road out front). Home has all you need, and lots of space. Love that it was dog friendly.

Family Get Away
We loved staying at this property as a family. We spent a couple nights on a road trip home and really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful area. We met Ernie on our first day and he was very friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend to anyone heading to this area or looking for a few days away somewhere!

Family Gathering
We had a wonderful stay at the Lawrence home that had plenty of room for our young adult children to come visit from the surrounding states, as well as host a cookout for local friends. The home was comfortable and had tons of charm and character. Mr. Lawrence was easily communicated with and super helpful. The home was centrally located to visit many local attractions including, Stone Mountain, Mt. Airy, Elkin, Shelton Vineyards, Fancy Gap, and Pilot Mountain. The area had many great restaurants (our favorite was Southern on Main in Elkin), wineries, and breweries. There was also a very charming ice cream place just up the road. This will definitely be a go to for us for return visits. A big thank you to the Lawrence’s for their kindness and hospitality during our visit.

28th Anniversary
The words that come to mind when you walk through the doors of this quaint farmhouse is peaceful. But among this quaintness you do have the up to date aminaties at your disposal: multi channel tv, wifi and a home theatre set upstairs . Its also close to a variety of activities and restaurants. The Lawerences are excellent hosts and are available to answer any questions. We look forward to our next visit.

Relaxing Getaway Stay!
We loved everything about the property and the hosts - Ernie and Sarah were as good as it gets. Loved the location and amenities and felt like a "home-away-from-home". Spacious areas and the outdoor fire pit is exactly what you want to come back to after a long day exploring the area. It’s like coming home!
This was our second stay here! I don’t know how to describe the feeling we get when we pull into the driveway except to say it feels like coming home. There’s a sense of peace and comfort that you feel immediately. It feels like you’ve come to your grandmother’s! I highly recommend this home if you need to slow down and relax! It’s close enough to town to be able to go do the touristy things, but out in the country enough to just simply chill out and relax! The owner, Ernie, is so nice and friendly too! We will be back on our next girls trip!

Lovely farmhouse in a great location
The farmhouse is beautiful and in a great location. It’s close to Mount Airy, but in a peaceful country setting. We really enjoyed the coffee station and large kitchen. We also had a great time hanging out around the fire pit in the back yard. The owners were very responsive and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy!

A Relaxing Get Away
My mom and I met here for a weekend quilt retreat. We enjoyed a relaxing time sewing and spending time together. We loved the charming farmhouse that was very clean and well taken care of. The host were easy to work with and we appreciated all the special touches they had included to make us feel like we were right at home. It's in a great location to feel like you are in the country but not far from local attractions. We definitely would recommend this property to others and hope we can come back again!

The Perfect Cottage for our Family
Our family members came together from 3 states, Maryland, Ohio, and West Virginia. This house was perfect for our family get-together. It was so clean, organized and cozy. We loved the kitchen, the front porch, and the huge open yard/field for the dogs. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions I had. I kept thinking, and said it more than once, that I loved it there so much there, I could see myself living in that house. We have other family members who live in the area, so when we come back, we will definitely choose this house to stay in.

Just a nice weekend
the property is quite and quiet with the exception of the occasional car passing by. You might ask the owner Earnie to provide gallons of bottled water as the tap is a little rich with iron. Overall our stay was enjoyable.
