The hotel is nice. But check-in was painful. I had to go outside to get my license plate number. Then I had to respond to a long list of policies. All before I could check in. The people ar nice and I like the amenities. But really?

Hotel was clean and had beautiful views of Shasta! Might be a tad overpriced for what you get! Staff is super friendly. Breakfast is not included despite a sign showing breakfast is served from 6:30 - 9:30. Its actually the restaurant that is opened for breakfast. Lastly, the train runs past the hotel tooting its horn multiple times throughout the night.

Nice but weird layout.
This is the biggest Best Western I have ever been to and probably the cleanest! They have a full restaurant and bar and I was there for sushi night (it was amazing). What kind of Best Western has sushi night??? The only reason I did not give this five stars is because my room was on the second floor and not one did anybody direct me to wear an elevator nor are there signs showing you how to find one. I had three little kids with me a extra large, 70 pound suitcase, and ice chest, and a bunch of other things I was trying to juggle, and I walked all over the freaking hotel, trying to find a way to my room 236. I finally pushed my stuff all the way back to the lobby and asked the guy where the elevator was… The man who had literally just checked into my room. He pointed out where it was and we found it but guess what? The second floor is actually the 300 rooms. Walked all over the floor, trying to find a way to room 236 and found nothing. So we went back down to the first floor, and I tried asking housekeeping how to find the room, but nobody could understand what I was asking. We finally made it to the bottom of a set of stairs, and I realized I would have all of my stuff up the stairs because the room was up there. Not once did anybody tell me this and sure enough, that was the case. There seem to be construction workers or some sort of maintenance people nearby who offered to help me which I gratefully accepted. I am not sure what I would’ve done without them.

I stayed here before the pandemic & I can tell the grounds & exterior aren’t as well kept as they used to be. Breakfast was included & now it’s an extra charge. The staff is courteous & helpful, which is always a plus.

Cozy and Convenient
A bit pricey for being a “Best Western” but if you’re planning on hiking Mount Shasta it’s worth it. Conveniently located, and has a great pool and jacuzzi.

Inhospitable and Overpriced
We asked and paid for a "mountain view" room. Got a wall view room for the same price. Staff offered to see if they could improve/change room next day. They did not offer to help move or show different rooms or even apologize for the misleading advertising. The next day a note shoved under our door said they wanted to clean our carpets and would we move all our items off the floor and prepare to be absent most of day. Warned us that when we returned the carpet would probably be wet. We suggested that if they wanted to do such a thing they should not have rented us the room. We declined. Again no apology. Desk clerk said, "Oh." We will never stay there again and are surprised that Best Western endorses such a callous inhospitable property. It was also reasonably expensive. Buyer beware.

Favorite hotel from the whole trip. The gentleman at the front desk with the bead who moved from LA was a pleasure to talk with. His name escapes me, but he was so nice we went back to stay there again.
