My room and the hallway smelled stale and smoky at first, but that impression dissipated after a few minutes. (I did notice it each time I entered the room, though. I believe it was a nonsmoking room, so no idea what was up with that.) The hallway carpet needed a good cleaning, I think. However, the room was quite clean, with an excellent bed and lots of pillows. It was hot outside, but the A/C worked well. The bathroom was tiny but well designed. The sheets were a limp polyester blend—booo!—and towels a little skimpy. There was a fridge and a microwave; both worked, as did the free wifi. The free breakfast was about what you’d expect, with an abundance of sugar and saturated fats, but I’ve had worse. There was fresh fruit and hard-boiled eggs, at least. The biggest plus was the very nice pool area! I was sorry to have left my suit at home.
With a little remodeling this would be a place I’d keep coming back to, but it was a perfectly fine place to stay for a few days. Parking is great, and it’s easy to walk from there to several good restaurants and stores.
