Great Staff, Great Location

The hotel is unique, safe, and in a great location. Fifteen minute walk to old town, three minute walk to the train station, and ten to fifteen minute walks to any number of great restaurants. Staff is beyond fun, funny, engaging, and helpful. A few key issues, but they know how to pour a drink and have a good time so all was well. Would stay here again.

Loved the hotel theme. Loved the staff. Loved it!

This was such a lovely property. The staff is super nice and they went above and beyond to assist us. We loved that it is themed. So thoughtful in the design. The location was also good. We took Uber to most places since we had tours planned and it was raining, but we could've walked to restaurants if we had wanted to. The room was a bit small for 4 people, but it was perfect for our family.

The service is fantastic and I love the quirky decor though the place was not as well maintained as it could be. It's steps from the train station so very convenient if you need that. Otherwise it's in a Turkish area which is fine but doesn't have the German flavor you may be looking for.

The reviews for this hotel seem to be describing a different place to the one in which I stayed. The room I was given was so worn and scruffy, it looked worse than the nearby youth hostel. The next room along had a balcony, which stretched over my window so anyone there could look straight into my room, onto my bed (the room was so tiny, that’s all they could look at). There was a significant damp patch too. The reception staff were friendly so this is no complaint against them but they didn’t seem to know what damp was, even when they saw it. They did change my room straight away but whilst there was no damp in the second room, it was, again, nothing like the photos: worn, tired and scruffy, and distinctly un-alpine. Additionally, both reception staff didn’t just show me my room number but announced it to everyone in the foyer - twice. Again, the staff weren’t unfriendly but that’s a basic security error. If you are a solo traveller or particularly, a solo female traveller, I would recommend considering other hotels.

This property is in a great location right next to the Central station. It is 10-15 min walk from the main centre with all the sights and shops. The decor is fun, themed throughout the hotel and the bathroom cable car is great. The staff spoke many languages - all perfectly and were super helpful. The family room was spacious and comfortable and we would definitely stay here again.

Charming, welcoming, and comfortable

We opted to stay in a larger room at this hotel since our trip was more than a couple nights and most of the rooms are smaller. We absolutely adored the room and the hotel itself. The details are so charming and the spaces (public and private) are very comfortable. Staff were usually readily available and were always helpful and pleasant. Even if we had booked a smaller room, the common spaces at the hotel are lovely, welcoming, and comfortable. With plenty of seating indoors, games and books for adults and kids, and a charming beer garden, you can easily relax and enjoy time in the public spaces of this hotel. Overall, we adored the Cocoon and would absolutely return!

Perfect location, comfortable room

Excellent stay! Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel has a cute alpine/ski lodge motif, very well done. Great photo spaces! The rooms likewise were very nicely decorated. We had a large room that was very comfortable for a family of 4. Loft area separated the two queen beds and there were 2 full bathrooms. We were able to spread out and relax. We had the hotel breakfast - it was wonderful! Good variety of hot and cold items. Well worth the cost as we did not need lunch after eating there. Also, location was great, very close to train station, easy to get around town by metro or on foot. Lots of restaurant options. Totally recommend staying here. We will be back!
