Riverside Bedford Bus with stunning valley views.

Take a break in this beautifully converted Bedford Bus with stunning views up the Lyell range and Matiri valley. Sits on the edge of the Kawatiri/Buller river right on the edge of town.

Look down across the river from the comfort of your bed and go to sleep to the sounds of the water flowing just metres away.

Relax beneath the stars in beanbags by the outside fire pit or prop up the bar. Plenty of entertainment for a chilled getaway.
The space
Sits on the edge of town across the road from a beautiful church, nestled between a couple of paddocks, an orchard and the Buller river.

Epic views throughout the and bus garden, as you are right next to the river. Some amazing sunsets over the Lyell range. Outside bar area with fire pit and beanbags to relax and enjoy the view.

The main bus has seating at an inside table for 2 and 2 fold out couches in the main lower area. The queen bed is on the upper mezzanine level.

There are a couple of hazards for children, the blinds have cords, the stairs might be dangerous for little ones and we are by the river. Children are welcome, we just want you to know the risks before booking.

Outdoor kitchen setup with BBQ, gas 2 burner, bar fridge and bar (all outside). Kettle and toaster inside.

Private ablution block with shower and composting toilet connected by covered area. The shower is really fantastic at night time.

If you would like to be set up with office space for working from the bus, we can put a comfy office chair and spare monitor in the bus for you. Please let us know in advance.

There is charge for extra beds. Please see other notes.
Guest access
The area with the bus in is surrounded by a rustic fence and bamboo one on the side with the road for extra privacy. You have your own shower and composting toilet in ablution block connected to bus by covered area. Cooking facilities are designed for outside, gas 2 burner and BBQ.

Access from front paddock between road and bus paddock. Welcome to park here.
Other things to note
The toilet is composting.

The main kitchen/cooking set up is for outside with a bar fridge.

We live with our children in the house to the back of the bus, but will give you privacy and you have your own area.

If you would like a comfy office chair or down at the bus and a spare screen if you are working from home please let us know in advance so that we can bring it on for you. The office chair is pretty big, so we don't leave it in the space all the time.

If you would like to sleep separately, additional beds are available upon request at a $30 per night upcharge. This is calculated in the booking system by adding an extra guest (3rd or 4th person). The couch beds are only available when a 3rd guest is booked. For both couch beds to be set up please book for 4 people. Hopefully this makes sense! Feel free to message. One couch bed is a double, the other is a large single.

Thank you.

Perfect laid back Getaway
We stayed at Cam's and Dee's place for one night on our trip from Christchurch to Abel Tasman. This place and the people are just awesome. The place offers everything we wanted, outdoor kitchen with a view, fireplace, outside dining area, beautiful outside shower & toilet, and of course the bus - with all the woodwork inside and so much personality to it.Cam is a lovely host - a real Kiwi, loves a good chat and is so willing to help! As we wanted to use the fireplace, he just provided all the wood and a full set of cast irons to get us going! No doubt it was all clean and tidy and the comms were super easy!My partner and I would have loved to stay there some more nights - we definitly recommend this place and would come back!

This is such a wonderful place - they did a beautiful job with the bus and I loved all the woodwork. Cam was a fantastic host. The setting is beautiful and we loved the special touch of fresh plums, lemons, and granola. Wish we could have stayed longer!
