We have been to this property several times. It continues to deteriorate. Air conditioning not working on entire floors, service is poor. Check in time is 4pm and we did not get a room till 7pm (and we registered the day before arrival). They never delivered our luggage to the room. My husband had to get it himself after 3 hours. Elevators were out of service for two days. I can go on and on. We will not return.

Its a lot smaller than I expected but that also made it more personal. If that makes sense. You quickly become familiar with the staff and other guests. Its a little outdated but it was clean. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay.

The property FAILED to notify guests that you CANNOT dine at ANY of their restaurants without a reservation, PRIOR to arrival and CANNOT make one for 48 hours after your arrival. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! The management is not onsite to address this issue (many guests had the SAME complaint) and the staff is only partially able to assist. I paid for a hotel suite and got room that is Standard by my assessment (bed and sofa). The property needs a full and complete renovation.... The room needed repairs (shower, walls, furniture -all in disrepair), the ice machine looked to be toxic (mold, mildew and crust covering it), the floors at the property were EXTREMELY slippery and dangerous. Finally, when I was forced to leave the property early, I was told to contact Travelocity to confirm my early checkout. I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN OR USE THIS SERVICE.

Traveled as a single female traveler to Bahamas. Second time at a RIU hotel because I stayed at the one in Cancun/rivera maya and had a great time. This one is adults only unlike the Mexico one which is wonderful but there isn’t much to do either than some theater shows/dancing/spa and drinking (lol!) the food was great, please try the jerk chicken and go to front desk for dinner reservations inside the hotel as the app will always tell you they are booked and they will be. It’s smaller but it does the work. I met some people and made lots of friends. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to all of my needs. They even gave me rice for my phone leak haha. The beach vendors are very pushy but they will back off if you negotiate prices, Bahamas is expensive so please know that! Otherwise, staff helped me get some fish fry located 20 mins away from the resort but I felt very safe and loved it here.

We had a great time at this resort. The Entertaiment was good but ended at midnight. The good thing is its only 1 mile (10 minutes) away from Atlantis Resort which has a casino if you want to something after hours. The cab driver is a good source of information, you just need to confirm the cost of trip before they pull off and don't pay more than $20 for trips on the other side of the island. Some of the cab drivers will charge and they'll never have change so make sure to have smaller bills if you're planning to use them.

Although I did enjoy my stay the atmosphere was more geared towards older people. The staff were very nice and accommodating but they definitely need to upgrade the hotel and need more variety in meals. I also found some of the excursions overpriced.

The food st Riu is not the best, endeed up going to fish fry and other restaurant dyring our stay. We experienced blackout 3 tines at night while at RIU hotel, still dont know what happened. Theres not much activities on site, both pool clospe at 6pm. If you could choose other hotel please do.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Riu. The beach is WAY NICER than atlantis, and the resort felt like our home away from home. The food was incredible as well!

Great hotel with plenty to do ! Beach, pool, food and drinks were amazing ! Staff was very welcoming and friendly and made our stay very pleasing. Will definitely come back!

I’ve been to the Riu in Jamaica and this one in The Bahamas was a great disappointment. It’s not worth the money. All inclusive means you want to relax and be comfortable and feel welcomed and catered to. The beach never gets cleaned. I’m very meticulous when it comes to cleanliness and I’ve never been to an all inclusive that doesn't clean the beach. They do not serve you drinks on the beach or even ask you if you need anything. Customer service is awful. They are not friendly or helpful or even care if you are enjoying your stay. There were a few staff that had great customer service skills one named Katherine and another young man that handles the front. He was very helpful on telling us where to go eat off the resort. The buffet is not the best once it runs out that’s it. The food was cold. Another customer said she seen a roach at the buffet. Housekeeping did a good job I can say. But our room smelled awful! Room 631 smells like wet mildew all the time. I’m not saying it’s the worst but it’s the worst all inclusive I’ve been to. I’ve been to smaller ones not as popular as Riu and they were way better. Riu is a big name and I feel the resorts and especially customer service should be the same across the board. The grill outside had flies constantly flying on the food I couldn’t eat it. Bahamas is nice and beautiful but i’d rather just spend a day there in a cruise or something.
