Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
We stayed in a king suite and, for the type of room and amount paid, we were very disappointed. The suite had a living area, a dining area, a kitchenette, a separate bedroom and a bathroom so it was very spacious. However, there were no windows, no utensils/dishes/glassware in the kitchenette and no extra bedding. The uncomfortable bed had only a sheet and a very thin blanket on it and the pillows were terrible and lumpy, although there were plenty of them. I found a decorative topsheet in the closet but there should have been more bedding since the couch was a pullout. The shower only had 2 settings: 3rd degree burns or polar plunge. Also, there was only 1 wastebasket.
As far as service, the lady who checked us in was excellent. The bartender was not. We stopped in the bar for one drink after having dinner out and were told the bar closed at 10pm. It was 9:15 on a Friday night and there were no other patrons. We stayed for less than 20 mins and decided to finish our drinks upstairs but, as we were leaving, we were asked to pour our drinks into plastic cups because the bartender did not want us to take our glasses to our room. We booked this hotel because of its location, which is walkable to Front Street, but it's also touted as upscale and it wasn't even average. We skipped breakfast, which looked way below par, and left at 7:30am. For the money, I think we would've had a better stay at Comfort Suites.
