The room was clean, and the area was fairly quiet. Key was left in the room so no check in or check out required. Missed a breakfast but it was a nice stay.

Overpriced and disappointing
We stayed here for one night on a road trip that took us through the upper peninsula of Michigan, which we really like. I wanted a place to stay that was between St. Ignace and Manistique, and this fit the bill. This property got excellent ratings and reviews, but I am not sure why. In my opinion the room was way overpriced for something that was only basic and not that comfortable. The beds were fine, but the other furnishings were pretty awful, no table, the desk was unusable and there was not even a chair to sit on, only an extremely uncomfortable sofa. There was no place in the room to put anything except one luggage rack, thank goodness at least for that. The bathroom also had no place to put anything, I balanced things on the tub, even the back of the toilet was not accessible, and no hair dryer. This is definitely a budget property but at a medium range price. We will not stay here again.

The online information for this property was missing some details that other hotels usually have. For example, from reading reviews it seemed we needed to request a fridge and microwave but that wasn't explained on the website. The check-in occurred via text message and we were charged before we arrived. This wasn't clear beforehand that this would be the process so luckily I had service and received the text. It would be helpful for guests if this information was clear beforehand. However the text check-in was very smooth so it's not a complaint just that it was unexpected. Overall the rooms were clean & well kept. Except one of our rooms had baby ants crawling on the TV stand and bed. The electric outlets were outdated and loose. It'd be nice to have easily accessible outlets that work. Beds had newer mattresses that were comfy. Temperature was good. Great location for easy access to UP attractions. Overall we had a good experience.

Never saw anyone! Keys laying in our room. Not personal. Texts were sent by owners but no direct contact. Missed that. Very clean. Motel being updated, will be nice. No Kleenex.

Probably never again.
Positives: Clean room, plenty of hot water, towels, etc. It was rainy and unfriendly weather, so we were glad to have a roof over us. Negatives: WiFi was non existent. Did ask for help but it didn’t matter. No mini fridge. For the amount we pay for a night and considering there’s nothing around for food and no breakfast, let us bring our own and refrigerate it. Be aware. If you have two people in this room, you will be tripping over each other.

Poor Electricity
Property was in the middle of renovations so it might fix the problem but I doubt it. We had an infant that needed milk in the middle of the night, and if you plugged the microwave in, the refrigerator and the microwave would not turn on. There weren’t enough plugs to use without losing power. We contacted the owner/manager about the issue and didn’t get any response. There weren’t any onsite manager. The lighting was very poor in the bathroom. We could hear neighbors conversations very clear.

Check in and check out were quick and very easy. Room was pretty small for our family of four but was very clean. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was clean as well. We would definitely stay here again!

I found several long blonde hairs (I have shoulder length brownish reddish hair) and no solution was offered besides an apology by staff (who could only be reached by text). There’s no actual staff on site which is odd, but the complimentary shampoo was half used and so was the lotion. The curtains were almost see through and didn’t fully cover the front window.
