Mountain Home at Wintergreen Resort...in the heart of Virginia's wine country.

Ski up the mountain in the late fall, winter and early spring . Enjoy golf, visiting wineries and breweries in the valley . The Tranquility Retreat is located at the base of the mountain in Stoney Creek, the sister community to the Wintergreen Resort. This house offers accommodations for multiple families on a wooded acre of property. This beautifully furnished home has five bedrooms with 4 and a half baths. Three owner suites offer king sized beds with private baths. A fourth upstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed and shares a bath with a fifth bedroom with a pair of twin bunk-beds. All of the rooms have flat screen cable TV, wireless/wired internet service. There is a land line phone in the home. In addition to the many indoor spaces, there are plenty of outdoor spaces. You will love the large screened deck on the back of the house, the spacious patio and the hot tub.

The area has many outdoor activities including hiking and biking trails, Lake Monocan, fishing, swimming pool, tennis and horseback riding. Additionally, it is home to many restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries on the Nelson 151 Trail. Only a 30 minute drive to Charlottesville (UVA/Monticello), Staunton, the Blue Ridge Parkway, or the Appalachian Trail. Perfect for UVA football weekends, family weddings, girls' and guys' weekends.

Comfortable and perfect in every way
This us our 2nd time staying for a fall weekend away to do a tour of the breweries/cideries/wineries. Perfectly relaxing, clean, well stocked, spacious, comfortable furniture and bedding. Love having the hot tub to end a long perfect day. Nice paths to walk the neighborhood. Had Tee time, but got cancelled from overnight rain. Next time want to bring tennis rackets, didn't realize we had access to amenities. This will be on top of our list for next year too! The 3rd night was well worth having! Thanks Marla!

Absolutely Beautiful
What a fantastic weekend! We rented this property for a family wine-trasting weekend and it could not have been more wonderful. The house is beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and incredibly well stocked. The location was perfect for visiting all the breweries and wineries. We were 5 couples and had plenty of space. We loved hanging out on the screened in porch. I can't say enough - we will be back!

Very nice and roomy for a lot of people
We really enjoyed our stay here... there were 6 adults and lots of cooking and TV enjoyment. Water heater didn't quite keep up for showers, so we just staggered them... The owners were prompt on any inquiries and we would highly recommend this place to anyone. The SPACIOUS back porch was WONDERFUL (and deer that came to visit a few times made it even better!). The kitchen was incredibly well stocked... no need to bring anything... and having plenty of towels and TP in bathrooms.. nice! Truly a great place to stay. Will keep this in my SAVED places!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house was clean and very comfortably accommodated my family for my son’s graduation. It was a bit of a drive to campus but it was easy to get there. There are several wineries, breweries and restaurants near the house as well. I would stay here again

Blended Perfection
Perfect location to enjoy local breweries, distilleries and restaurants but also close enough to enjoy the ski resort . Warm , very clean and comfortable house with all amenities that supported a large group but also allowed for individual privacy . Communication with owner was outstanding and this house has our highest recommendation ! We would definitely stay here again .!

Beautiful home perfect for multiple couples
This was our favorite home we have stayed at in the area so far. It was a great size with multiple master suites. It is perfect for multiple families. We liked that it was not located up on the mountain so it was easier to access. The hot tub and screened in porch were wonderful. We even enjoyed playing games and just spending time together in the large gathering area. We will be looking to book here again for our stays and highly recommend it. The host was always very responsive and helpful. Thank you!

Loved the 3 king suites, great for our group of adults. Very spacious rooms and common areas. Newer appliances, super well stocked with everything! Pretty mountain view from front porch. Private wooded lot nestled in upscale golf community. Walking trail. 5 mins drive to Paul's Creek hike. Marla was very responsive to maintenance issue. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Right in the center of the valley!
This property did not undersell! With an excellent central location for local food, beer, wine, cider, distilleries, and even meads, gastro tourists of all stripes can find something for their stomachs! The house itself was laid out well for our group of 10 which included adults and children in all of the common areas, a difficult order in many homes! The owner was responsive and pleasant and we had no issues in our interactions with them or the resort the property is on. :)

Plenty of space, great location- close to wineries and breweries and walking paths. Loved the deck! Owner very accommodating with early check in and recommendations. Surprised that there were not some basic kitchen items- salt or sugar etc.. That is not typical and would have been helpful to know in the description of the property.

Wonderful stay in wine country
The home was beautiful and set in the majestic mountains of VA. It’s a quick 20 minutes to some of the best wineries and 2 miles from large breweries like Bold Rock. The home was large enough to comfortably fit a group of 12 with gathering areas such as the large screened in porch and beautiful vaulted ceilings living room.

Wow! I can't speak highly enough of Marla and her property. She was accommodating to our every need and ensured a relaxing stay in her beautiful mountain home. Some of the highlights - ample parking, large screened-in porch, close to a grocery store and comfortable beds. The kids especially loved the hot tub! We will definitely be back. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We had a few couples get away for a weekend with out kids to relax and have dinner and drinks at the local brewery and wineries. Great location. Place was super clean. Family fun weekend-short drive
We came up for a 3 day weekend. The kids enjoyed playing games together and soaking in the hot tub. Everyone had plenty of room. We got tickets to go snow tubing the morning of check out. Two of the kids had never been tubing and had a blast. Was enjoyable weekend trip for the family. The dryer needs to be looked at. There is some sort of service light on the wall panel behind it saying it needs service and the dryer did not always want to cut on even after cleaning the lent filter.

Cozy, quite, perfection
We loved everything about our stay! The home offered such a great space for multiple families and very welcoming. We skied/tubbed, played board games, & ate all weekend! The home was clean and well prepared for our needs as far as cooking. The only negative was that we could have used some extra towels because of the kids using the hot tub. So if you’re coming, maybe grab a few beach towels.

Perfect Ski retreat!
Our group had a memorable weekend at this beautiful property at Wintergreen. Our host was very gracious and thoughtful to our needs given the logistical challenges caused by winter storm Izzy. I would come back to this property without hesitation.
