You found it! The Happy Owl Lakehouse, built in 2019, has been lovingly designed to provide guests with an unforgettable experience of beauty, comfort, and joy. Relax in modern peaceful style in this newly-constructed oasis on the banks of Canyon Lake, located midway between San Antonio and Austin in the lush Texas Hill Country. Whether you're wanting peace and quiet, a fun-filled get-away to bond with friends and family, a taste of "Lake Life", or adventurous day trips packed with boating, tubing, cave exploring, safari tours, ziplining, Schlitterbahn, Six Flags, antiquing, dancing to live music, or much more, the Happy Owl makes for an excellent central base of operations.

The Happy Owl Lakehouse, with its high ceilings and huge windows, is located on the south shore of Canyon Lake, with beautiful sunset views from spacious waterfront decks and balconies with plenty of seating, lounge chairs, and tables for outdoor dining. Enjoy direct and private access to the lake, the propane BBQ grill, a hot tub for 6, an outdoor shower, indoor/outdoor sound system that connects to your device via Bluetooth, three large flat-screen "smart" televisions with 100 cable channels, WiFi internet, and brand new appliances throughout, including full sized washer/dryer, and the amenities of a modern kitchen.

Two downstairs bedrooms each have a king-sized bed, black-out blinds, and a private full bathroom, one with a walk-in shower and one with a bath tub. A separate half-bath also accommodates guests on the first floor. The second floor offers a large bedroom with two queen-sized beds, a loft area containing a day bed and trundle bed (two twins), a "kids zone" with toys, games, and puzzles, another full bathroom with a large walk-in shower, and a balcony that runs the full width of the house, overlooking the lower deck and lake. The Happy Owl is ready for the making of your extraordinary memories year round!

**The Happy Owl Lakehouse is located in a residential area and can experience construction sounds. Currently there is a house under construction next door whose schedule is not in our control, so if this would cause a disruption to your enjoyment of the house it is something to keep in mind.

Fantastic spot

30th birthday weekend
The house was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate a 30th birthday! Plenty of room for everyone and great patio. We were able to enjoy being outside and not feel crowded anywhere in the house. Definitely recommend staying here!

I’ve stayed at many different rentals. This one by far was one of the nicest. It was beautifully decorated and accommodated our family of eleven very well. The view of the lake was spectacular. The property was as advertised. The pictures don't do the view justice. The pictures make the view look good but it's even better in person. We had eleven people in the house comfortably and used the kayak, floats and floating mat to hang out at the lake. The location is convenient to hiking the guadalupe river trail and going to concerts at the Whitewater Ampitheatre. We will likely be back in the future.

This property is unreal, From the Lake view to the incredible home decor!
I have never in my life walked in a house and thought I wouldn’t change a thing about this, that was my thought when I walked in this one! I LOVED the decor down to every little detail. And the house has SO much bright natural sunlight it’s Beatiful. And can’t say enough about the Beatiful view of the lake and sky! Also the kitchen had so much stuff available from every cooking pot you would ever need to ziplock bags and spices, it was super helpful!

The home was beautiful and perfectly positioned on the lake for easy access. Our only complaint would be that the cleaning lady was not finished in time for us to arrive at 4pm. Everything else was wonderful. Once suggestion would be to have locks on the bedroom doors, not just the bathroom doors.

Wow! A group of 10 friends and family enjoyed a long weekend at this gem of a property. The house was immaculate and offered everything we needed to take advantage of all that the property offered. It was tastefully appointed with decor and furnishings that perfectly complemented the spacious layout. Great communication with property manager and check-in/check-out was a breeze. Best VRBO experience to date!
This home is more beautiful in person than what you see in the photos! The attention to detail from the plush grass in the front yard, to the opening gate to the jacuzzi that leads straight to the bedroom, we enjoyed every bit of it! It made for a memorable experience and surpassed every expectation we had to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. We just absolutely love this home and all it had to offer! We hope to be back soon!

Phenomenal Experience
Great house and location on the lake. Well stocked and equipped for renters. My wife and I went with our 3 children (ages 14, 2, & infant) for an extended weekend trip. We had a great time. Views are amazing. The outdoor areas are what made this place. Lots of outdoor relaxing areas with picture perfect views. Saw lots of wildlife. Driving through the neighborhood before we arrived to the house we were thinking to ourselves what did we do; but when we arrived at the house we felt instant relieved from those doubts. The surrounding area is mostly older houses and camp-like sites. But, that doesn't take away from the property at all. I'd recommend a baby gate if you have small children for the interior staircase. We couldn't find at local stores so we managed without. Only recommendation I'd make.

Great property right on the lake, will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Exactly as advertised! Looked like new stepping stones had been added to the path down to the lake which make it much easier to get down to the shore. The teens enjoyed doing a little kayaking in the cove. Looking forward to coming back in the summer!

Great porches with view.
Had many positives: Well appointed kitchen and baths (even a great cruise ship type soap/conditioner/body wash in master shower) , super view, great porches (with comfortable astro-turf runner), convenient hot-tub and grill, safety fencing around front and back, good wi-fi, great TVs, and good lighting. There are also some negatives: Needs a few more comfortable(padded) chairs (few less benches); the fancy microwave was underpowered; needs more towel racks in baths (and better located); bed pillows were not very comfortable. Also, if you have small children, consider bringing safety gates for the stairs, which are very high and steep and wooden. All in all, a very nice, albeit pricey, place to stay.
