Sunday Hollow 2BR with Pond and AC
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Sunday Hollow is a snug A Frame style cabin set on 3.59 acres of land which includes a crystal clear mountain stream and swimmable pond. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. Located about 15 minutes from the popular destination towns of Margaretville, Roxbury, Andes and Bovina Center. Set on a quiet country road yet close to area activities like skiing and event venues. Sunday Hollow is the intimate, inspiring retreat you've been looking for.
Sunday Hollow is nestled among the pine trees and woods of rural upstate NY. Set on a quiet, dead end country road, it offers both convenience of location and the calm of a bucolic country setting.
At 412SF, this intimate A Frame is perfect for solo travelers passing through or looking for an invoking spot to disconnect and gather ones thoughts. Couples will find Sunday Hollow familiar and relaxing, an enticing atmosphere to spend time together. Filled with furniture, textiles and objects of nostalgia, you will feel both welcomed home and excited at what there is to discover.
Kitchen
The main entry of the house is into the kitchen. Compact, efficient and stocked with everting you need to prepare meals. Note that there is not a dishwasher or microwave.
Living Area
The living and dining room adjoin the kitchen. Open the shades to take in the peaceful view of the woods outside. A sizable, cushy sofa is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing. In the colder months, the wood stove adds warmth and ambiance to the space. The dining area has seating for 4 and can double as a working space.
Bathroom
The bathroom is on the main floor and has a toilet, sink and shower. While not big in size, it is functional and gets the job done.
Bedrooms
One bedroom with a full sized bed is on the main floor. The second bedroom is a LOFT bedroom. Guests must feel comfortable climbing a ladder staircase to the loft area. In the loft, you are welcomed by a plush, queen sized bed, a view of the living area and outdoors. For those who don't enjoy an early morning sunrise, curtains in front of the bed block the light to allow for some extra sleeping time.
Outdoors
The newly renovated back deck will be your favorite spot, all year round. With a propane BBQ grill, dining table and seating, you will harmonize with nature in comfort. Overlooking the pond and the lawn, the deck is the perfect spot for early morning coffee or evening firefly watching. Down a short flight of stairs, the lawn extends to the pond. A path leads you around the pond and through a small field, back around to the creek the runs behind the house. Crystal clear, refreshing mountain water from the stream feeds the pond. Invigorating in the warmer months for swimming. In the colder months, the stillness of the pond mirrors the surrounding woods and is a delight to see. Just next to the pond, there is a fire pit and seating area as well as a hammock. Bring a blanket outside and take a daytime siesta, or close your eyes at night and listen to the sound of peepers or the occasional owl.
Sunday Hollow is the relaxed getaway that you need to reset, recharge and reconnect.
Guests have access to all area of the cabin. There is a small shed on the property that is not included in the reservation and should not be entered.
Hosts live nearby and are available as needed.
