The description of the guest house is all a bit over-egged, so if you go expecting a bit less than promised you’ll be fine. My room was on the top floor, large room but lacking any real care to the layout (i.e. lots of space but not even a chair to sit in and a broken ironing board in the corner). Also as it was at the top the snazzy locking system didn’t work properly so I was able to get a key from the receptionist. Another issue being the water pressure for the shower, not a deal breaker - just takes longer to get the shampoo out. The early check-in fee isn’t very welcoming when you arrive to a new city, travelling 9 hours on a train and clearly I had a cold but I was still quoted the $40 extra for just one extra hour. It’s in their rules but still seems harsh. The house is in a fairly good location, tram stop outside and walkable to the garden district which has more food options.

Love the historic atmosphere and the tram stop just across the road. Didn't like that there was no one there to talk to, even someone there for an hour or two at set times would have been better. I was lucky when I checked in as there was someone there and she was very helpful otherwise I would have been in a room upstairs with no lift and as a 70 year old I would really have struggled with my luggage.

The receptionist was extremely helpful. The trolley stop right outside the hotel was the way to get to and from the French Quarter. Big room with a tall ceiling and comfy bed. Would surely stay here again.

Place was clean but no live humans around to talk to. Historic means old means amenities may be weak, i.e. toilet flushed very weakly, shower flow very weak, but adequate. Many loud thuds to about 11:30 pm from inconsiderate guests.

Mold on wall in Deluxe King Room
My husband and I stayed at the Historic Streetcar Inn for a wedding weekend. We were in the Deluxe King Room for 3 nights. Check inn was incredibly easy (you definitely need an up to date smart phone though). My operating system on my phone was too out of date to unlock the doors so I always had to have my husband with me. Coffee and tea are located on the first floor but it was clean and easy to find. Our room was spacious, bed was VERY comfortable. The one MAJOR drawback was that there was visible mold on the walls in our room. It was very unsettling. Unfortunately I never saw any front desk employee until the last day at check out so there was no one to complain to throughout our stay. For this reason alone I would not stay here again. The room and bathroom were clean overall other than the visible mold on the walls.

No frills - hidden gem
Booked this hotel to stay for a friends wedding in NOLA. Location was perfect for us. No parking lot but we were able to park on St Charles Ave. for most of the weekend, had to park around the corner for one night, but no problems. We had one of the king size rooms on the 2nd floor. No elevator. Room was nice. Bathroom was a bit small but functional. Only mirror was over the sink in the bathroom so for me (getting ready for a wedding) was a negative. There is a small balcony overlooking St. Charles which is shared by guests. There is a courtyard patio to enjoy a coffee. Smoking is allowed on the patio. There are a couple of vending machines and the coffee/tea room. There are no other amenities. There is a streetcar stop on the corner right by the hotel. It is a no frills hotel but a convenient location, clean rooms, good price. We would stay again.

No secure parking, but plenty to do within walking distance. Clean room, much better than 5 years ago. Staff also much better, as the lady at check-on is extremely helpful and friendly.

In general we enjoyed the hotel. The only downfall was the bed sagged in the middle. The amenities and the cleanliness were great. The location was right on the streetcar line, so we hardly had to drive our car.

Spacious room. No cups, glasses for water. There was no area in the bathroom to set anything on to get ready. Small closet, no dresser. The ceiling fan would not run without the light being on also.

Oh man. The room that Historic Streetcar Inn put me in smelled like mold and I found a slug in the bathroom the last day. The only thing good about this room was the bed which was 10/10 comfy.

What a cute place!! Room was clean and spacious. Lots of Connor areas outside to sit and enjoy a glass of wine! Quite a few restaurants within walking distance too. I was worried about parking but it was no issue at all!!! Thanks for a great stay!
