Lovely hotel, poor check in experience
We stayed for 3 nights on vacation and loved the hotel. Brand new, tastefully decorated, big room and comfy bed, great shower. Location was perfect for us - near the lovely Garden District and great shops and restaurants on Magazine Street, and the St Charles Ave streetcar stops right outside, to go into downtown/french quarter in about 25 minutes. However the experience was let down by the check in - we arrived at night in heavy rain after a long journey, and also weren't sure where we could park. The receptionist was on another call so we waited for about 5 minutes with no acknowledgement and then we received a very functional check in, with no information about the hotel, parking, etc, so we had to push to get required information. Next morning we got a much more friendly greeting from a different receptionist, so I think we were unlucky. I'd stay here again, and recommend the hotel to others, but the owners could do with sorting out the quality of the welcome so it matches the hotel.

Things that need to be appreciated and recognized
Extremely nice property, everything is done with intent. Staff was hospitable & the cleaning services need to be recognized. The lady who was moping and sweeping said hello and goodbye everytime I passed her. The gentleman power washing the concrete every morning was waving everytime we passed. Very good location and best coffee around.

Almost great.
Hotel is beautiful & staff are kind. Room was comfortable. Window coverings allow a lot of outside light into the room, not ideal for rest. Room was also missing a tv. Lack of tv amenity was not told to us upon booking nor check in.

The property & staff where excellent. So the sad situation is your elected officials of the city. I am from a ridiculous city of union corruption with the Washington Bridge stealing funds and mayors not fixing roads & hiring their buddies to fill with gravel & sand so they can constantly bill us out. Getting grants for bike lanes that never get used but your city takes the cake. Not only are the roads really bad (also filled with gravel to ensure never done right & to bill tax payers out) but the side walks really dangerous, missing entire sidewalks & big drops. Also area to fresh market open drug deals & cops watching. I soend a lot of time in big cities so i can navigate smart but your guys are rough. Loved property tho! Hope your city corrects mine sadly won't!
