Property owner is not on site. Checking in with code was successful, but no air conditioning was on in the house. We did eventually get in touch with the owner, who turned the A/c on remotely. The room we were assigned to never cooled off, and the owner offered a second bedroom to change to. Breakfast was not a home-cooked meal, but self-serve items such as cereal, fruit, yogurt, packaged bagels, cookies. Keurig Coffee maker and tea selection available. Very limited protein option other than yogurt. The owner did response when I asked for some protein options, and added a plate of sliced cheddar cheese to the refrigerated display case in the morning.
The property itself was lovely, with big bedrooms and baths. But, it was way out in the middle of nowhere, and felt pretty isolated. There are cats in the premises and although they are suppose to be “outside cats”, they easily got into the house anytime a door was opened. We are highly allergic to cats, and were affected in all the rooms.
Most of the rooms are on the second floor, and require suitcases to be carried up a long stairway. Be aware of which room you book.
Many previous high recommendations were from the era that this B&B was run by a couple living onsite.
