Beautiful Lodge on Mystic Mountain

A beautiful New York Cabin at the top of Mystic Mountain with three bedrooms and two baths, and a pull out couch. We have a small pond with fish and walking trails. There are lakes and waterfalls nearby the home and great views from the decks over the mountains. This secluded area is great for a getaway from the hubbub of everyday life. The cabin is on the border of Cazenovia. Wineries and golfing nearby. No children under 12
* The driveway is steep and has loose rubble going to the top for about one mile slowly to the top. A 4-wheel drive vehicle or all-wheel drive is recommended. Once you get to the top it is flat and parking is easy. The view is spectacular.

Quiet Mountain Getaway
We stayed in the beautiful mystic mountain lodge while we visited from out of town for a wedding. The lodge was nice and secluded, with a beautiful view of the night sky and surrounding mountain scape. The lodge itself was warm and inviting, with a large kitchen and so many areas to relax and unwind. 10 out of 10, would stay again.

Great vacation
Place is spectacular, views are amazing from the back deck. 4 wheel drive vehicle is a great idea. Driveway is beautiful but steep for those concerned. I would go back in a heart beat. Sooooo worth the trip. Was everything and more than we expected.

Beautiful View and Complete Privacy
Way up high on a hill, in the woods overlooking a valley of farms and distant hills. The house was large and spacious. It had a large kitchen w a couple tables. It was originally a ski lodge. Large deck with views. “Rustic”, not fancy or “homey” it felt like it is owned by someone far away. I had trouble with cell phone/wifi in the kitchen, but it was fine everywhere else. The road up to the cabin was fine for our car in July. All in all, I loved the view, the peacefulness, and going to Caz and nearby lakes. (Blue Canoe is a good restaurant). PS. We had to go to Caz to buy coffee. Stairs in the back, outside of the house are easier than the spiral staircase in living room.

The Lodge was a great place, off the beaten path, but close enough to the events we were attending. The quietness of the surroundings made our stay something special.

Perfect Rental for Large Group of Friends
We are a group of seven horsewomen who rented Mystic Mountain while attending the Lorenzo Driving Competition, which was about a 10-15 minute drive away. It was perfect for the group of us...large kitchen and living room with two sofas; one small bedroom downstairs, and two larger bedrooms upstairs plus a loft with a pullout couch. One of the ladies slept on the enclosed porch on a cot. The driveway to reach the house is long, narrow and winding so be prepared to drive carefully, but once you reach the house, you won't be disappointed. We enjoyed our stay!

Amazing view, very quiet
Steep, rocky drive up to cabin. AWD or 4WD a must. Amazing view. Huge wrap around porch overlooking the valley below. Huge windows without shades/blinds to let sun in. Beautiful, warm cozy living room with bar. Large dining room table, 2 a/c units, w/d 2 kitchen tables, porch furniture, all kitchen accessories, dishes, utensils, microwave, coffee maker, keurig, toaster oven, toaster, etc. Water pressure/temp is excellent. Very quiet. Clean towels/linens. 2 wood stoves, electric heat, indoor fireplace & outdoor fireplace, stocked wood shed, 3 bedrooms, 3 tvs, huge field behind home, pond. Gas grill, dishwasher, 3 sink bin in kitchen. The only negative was the cabin wasn't very clean. Stains, bugs, dust, dirty walls, sticky residue, fire extinguishers all empty, no smoke alarms, both mini fridges did not work. Miscommunication in using indoor fireplace. We couldn't get woodstoves to work, smoked too much. Brought our own wood & never told about the woodshed. Wifi connection issue at first. Numerous lightbulbs out which we found replacements and changed some. Outstanding communication with Sondra. And the creepiest thing of all was no mention of the owners (all 3 of them) grave stones in the back yard. All said, we'd definately be back.

UTOPIA
This is a beautiful home and property with an idyllic view. The home has a rustic charm to it but equipped with all modern conveniences. It is located at the top of a mountain so Very Remote! We were lucky enough to catch the fall foliage at peak; the whole countryside was bursting with color. The deck overlooking the view is very spacious and the stone fireplace is so cozy; the perfect way to sit outdoors at night and enjoy the beautiful sky. Nearby state parks have beautiful trails and waterfalls. Stone Quarry Art Park is nearby and definitely worth a visit. We loved everything about this gorgeous home and property!

Amazing Views and Relaxing Getaway!
Easy check in process. Large house and well stocked with everything you need. View is breathtaking. We came for the view, and everything else was just as nice. Would recommend for families or a quiet getaway. Our AWD small SUV did great up the driveway- the Jetta was able to get up with some pushing. If you plan to leave the house frequently then an AWD is a must. We will DEFINITELY be back :)

Secluded Retreat
The house was a lovely retreat into the mountains for a long weekend. The view is absolutely unbeatable, we enjoyed many morning coffees and dinners on the porch. The living space is comfortable and cozy. The driveway was certainly steep and a bit longer than we anticipated but we managed just fine in a mid size car.

Beautiful Mountain Top Escape
The house sits approximately a half mile up a wooded, winding drive way. We made it to the top in our two wheel drive car safely, although I would not attempt it in snow without 4/AWD. The property and house are rich in history and character, yet uncluttered and easy to make your own for a while. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. The views are truly breathtaking. Dining and lounging on the enormous wrap around deck felt like paradise. The outdoor stone fireplace is perfect for smore's! The deck rail and indoor spiral stair case may not be safe for todlers, but my 8 yr old was fine. The place is well stocked with all the basics you may need and there are several supermarkets in Cazenovia for food, about 15-20 min drive. Sondra was responsive to all our questions and returned texts within minutes. The house is secluded and private and exactly what we were looking for to escape reality for a long weekend. Do not hesitate to book!

Not comfortable in the hot summer
We arrived to dead flies all over the floor and a dead rodent with maggots in the living room. We stayed for three nights and the daytime temperatures were in the 80s. The house got very warm (reading 86 degrees inside at 9:00pm). There were two portable air conditioners. One worked well, the other came with no hose to pipe out the window so we had to improvise. Even with all the fans circulating, the temperature was too warm to be comfortable for sleeping. The view is amazing. The living room furniture VERY comfortable. The kitchen is great and much cooler than the rest of the house. The spiral staircase in the middle of the living room makes it difficult to get around, but is better than going outside to get upstairs. With proper air-conditioning units and more careful cleaning this would have been a much better experience. Caution: Not necessarily kid friendly. Rodent traps under the couches, Spiral staircase and must be careful on the deck. Caution: The driveway is mentioned in the listing as difficult at times. It is a very steep long dirt/stone driveway that has a couple of sharp turns. Not made for every car, but we did have an SUV so it was fine.

Remote and relaxing
I stayed here with a group of friends for a weekend getaway to escape. It was everything that we hoped it would be and the property was as described. While the cabin is nicely equipped with TV's etc, the view of the forest and farms below was breathtaking and they weren't put into use. The weekend was a great change of pace from the calamity and stress of everyday life, everything we were looking for. The leaves were just starting to change as fall is nearing and i can only imagine the veiw in just a few more weeks time. Thank you for sharing your retreat with us, highly recommend to anybody looking to get away.

Secluded spacious escape from the world, while still keeping it 15 minutes away
First, let me thank the owners for allowing us to spend our end of summer family trip in the beautiful home. After the initial climb up the long driveway, you come to the top and the wrap around drive reveals a spacious parking area where the view of he valley below first grabs your attention. Upon stepping onto the deck and seeing the outdoor fireplace, we opened the door to find not only a beautiful vacation cabin, but a warm and inviting home. The family feel and history of the cabin are evident and makes you appreciate what went into building it. There is more than enough room for our family of 5 and could have had more. The kitchen and dining room were spacious and well equipped, and anything you could need is available 20 minutes away in Cazenovia. The beds combined with the cool night breeze worked better than any bedtime story. The private pond was a nice surprise, and the fish seemed quite friendly as they follow you around on a stroll. Given the amount of wood stoves and fireplaces, as well as a complete woodshed I can only imagine the winter with the view over the fresh snow from the front dining table over coffee with a warm fire on every side. We truly did fall in love with the place and look forward to staying again. Thank you again for letting us wrap our summer with a perfect ending.
