Lots of hidden fees. Avoid.
Don’t stay here. They charge lots of hidden fees - including an almost $300 charge called a “destination fee” - for a fee of $45 per day you get to buy $15 from the shop. A bottle of water from said shop is $7.50. The room itself was comfortable, but the lights and toilet flush were strange and took a while to fiddle with every time to make them work. They don’t offer any amenities like toothpaste in the room, you have to ask at reception. Lastly the cleaner took our towels and didn’t replace them, so that was another trip to reception to queue up.

My room's tub (3114) did not drain shower so atanding in water up to ankles in shower. Sink in bathroom if left water on while brushing teeth or washing face filled to brim and did not drain until long after.

The location next to Grand Central Station was very convenient. However the room left much to be desired. There was cheerios on the floor when none of us had cherrios and no washclothes in the bathroom at all. We were given 2 towels, no bathmat, and no washclothes.

I recently had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt Grand Central in New York City. From the moment I arrived, Shannon was warm, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring a smooth check-in and answering all my questions about nearby attractions. The room was spacious and spotless with a comfortable bed and a great view of the city. The hotel’s central location made it easy to explore nearby sights, and their on-site market sold items that made it easy to not have to walk a few blocks to another store. Overall, it was an exceptional experience, and I’d highly recommend Hyatt Grand Central for anyone visiting NYC.
