Disappointing Experience at Hotel Hayden
I recently stayed at Hotel Hayden in New York and had an incredibly disappointing experience.
1. Lack of Transparency: Upon arrival, we discovered the hotel was under construction, and the restaurant was closed—neither of which was communicated to us beforehand.
2. Room Issues: We paid extra for a room with two queen beds, but were “upgraded” to a king suite without being asked if we were okay sharing a bed. As two coworkers, this was uncomfortable and embarrassing. The pull-out sofa they offered as an alternative was extremely uncomfortable, not something you want after a long day.
3. Cleanliness Concerns: The room had visible stains on the sofa and chairs, and we found men’s hair in the bed—completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point.
4. Breakfast: The breakfast was incredibly poor, barely worth mentioning.
5. Customer Service: At checkout, no one asked how our stay was. The lack of care and consideration was evident.
For the price they charge, this hotel falls far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here.
