We enjoyed our two night stay at the Romer's. We came in on the subway from JFK, and it was about 1 block walk from the subway station. We came to eat food and see the museums, and Hell's Kitchen is ground zero for foodies! We found great places to eat within a 15 minute walking distance. Two things we didn't prepare for. We came to NYC with practically no cash, as we had just come from a recent trip to Europe, where everything is cashless. Tips are still paid in cash in NYC in many circumstances. We were unprepared. Also, some great bagel places we tried were cash only, as well. Be prepared for that! We were charged $45 per night by the hotel for an "urban fee". I looked it up when we got home, and apparently, there is some controversy over this fee on the DA's website, and we may try to fight it. They could just up the price of the room by that amount but they would be taxed on it, and they would be less competitive. Beware.
Beside that fee, everything else was fantastic, and we certainly plan on returning to Romer's Hell Kitchen in the future. It's a great location at a reasonable price.
