Just back from six nights at this hotel. Brilliant location, quiet and safe and great food and drink options nearby. Easily walkable to many big shops and attractions. Staff were great and our special request was met, we had a fabulous room. Big room, dated but very clean and very good housekeeping each day. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you San Carlos.

Perfect place for a stay in NYC. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent location within walking distance of Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, Grand Central, MoMA, shopping of 5th and many other attractions. This is an older hotel but looks fresh and clean. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff for a great stay.

Hasn’t been remodeled in a while but in this case it works to your benefit - the room was the largest I’ve had in NYC. Our view on the second floor was not inspiring but the subway station a block and a half away will take you just about anywhere you want to be inspired. Also the lobby staff were awesome! Their recommendations were spot on.

Nice hotel
Our room was comfortable and updated. It was a kinf with a living room. There was a small kitchenette. My mother in laws room was outdated with regards to carpet. Beds were comfortable. The service was great and location was great. My only qualm is that the website made it look like the restaurant next door was one that could offer room service the way it was photographed or would be a later night bar, but it wasnt. It closed early and there was no room service. My only complaint about the checkin was that staff didnt tell us where gym or work station lobby was. Overall, it was a good hotel for what we paid. I would stay there again, if needed.

Older but typical NY Hotel. Could use updating but very clean and quiet. Staff was great and gave perfect suggestions for eating and also subway directions. We were upgraded to a suite which was very helpful since there were 4 women!

The hotel is in a perfect location and the staff is great, the rooms are a good size. My only complaint is that it's starting to look shabby. Needs a bit of a renovation.

Christmas in Manhattan
San Carlos was a great hotel to stay in in Manhattan. It is convenient to Rockefeller Center and Subway. Easy walk to Times Square and all the major tourist attractions. Room had good space and was well kept. Id go back there on out next visit .
