Everything was great. Except one of the beds in our room needs to be replaced. The mattress was way too soft and had a groove in the middle

My first visit to NY and what a unforgettable experience. The pluses: location convenient to Times Square and NY's MTA subway. The negatives: behind it's big name brand and opulent looking lobby the fine details are not so appealing. Shabby rooms and communal areas which require upgrading. Staff that seem to appear as if they don't want to be working there - obnoxious & arrogant. The hotel, like most places in Manhattan, is just after your money. And this Destination tax of $30 per day forces you to purchase food & beverages in their bars & restaurants otherwise you lose the money. What a joke! I hope other hotels offer a better customer experience. All this aside NY offers so much to those who would take the time and effort to explore this magical city full of wonderful sights to see.
