Check-in was hour and half late due to room not being cleaned. Inside room had a few maintenance issues. Elevators packed in the morning with long lines during breakfast hours. Water in lobby frequently empty. Coffee was empty 2x during a 2 night stay. Hot chocolate bar was great & waiting area nice.

The hotel was good. Clean and big room. Comfortable beds. However, the neighbourhood was not safe. I did not feel comfortable while walking from metro to the hotel in the evenings as a solo traveller. But if you are not travelling alone, it should not be a big problem.

Hotel Picture 100% misleading.
We came here knowing nothing about the area and the hotel surroundings. New York is going through some changes, and construction is everywhere. This picture of the hotel is 100 misleading. It's a computer drawing. The entrance to the hotel looks like a back alley. There is a lobby which is cramped and a thousand people in the lobby as its small and they are using it for several different reasons. Next, they do not tell you that you are 200 feet from the Edison electricity power station it's towers and smokestacks. Glad it wasn't nuclear. The hotel is 2 blocks from "the projects" which is one of the most run down and dangerous areas in New York (Queens). Walking anywhere is dangerous. The room itself- though small- was clean and the only respite from it all. That said it was not new and not sound proof- cars honking and worse all the construction "backing up beeps" all morning from 4am were a constant alarm noise. Not a bad experience but not a great one. I was glad to come home.

This stay has been one of my best hospitality experiences ever! All the staff have been helpful from the moment I walked in til even after I left. Due to the nature of my DJ work (@illeegul), I had to come and check in early and check out late and they were more than accomodating of my scheduling. I even had a product review package that was supposed to come in but it was arriving after I leave the hotel so Gail and Fardeen from reception cooperated with me and the shipper to make sure I get it when I arrive back home to complete my job. Super professional, clean, friendly, welcoming, and understanding. I don't have enough words to describe how grateful I was to stay here. I'm definitely staying here and recommending this spot everytime I stay in NYC!
