Nicely decorated. However, the shower floods the floor and the door has swollen, making it awkward to open.
Nice hotel. Superior room well worth paying a little extra for. Area is quite busy with students, but lots of choice for eating and drinking. Bonus that there is a car park onsite too (albeit with limited number of spaces)
Room had a table that could be used for studying (my purpose of travelling to Newcastle). Unfortunately neither the room lights but natural light enabled me to study at the table. When I enquired as to what rooms would suits my purpose I was just told to ‘look at the rooms on the website photos’. Not helpful and as I am intending studying at Newcastle and using hotels for my accommodation that was not a good way of recommending yourselves for future bookings over the next three years. Apart from that I was happy with my stay but I’m now questioning booking again with you.
A decent hotel with a clean room and en-suite bathroom. Lots of stairs to access the quiet room on the second floor in the Carlton hotel part across the road from the Cairn hotel.
Nice clean hotel oroviding good service at good value.

Good venue for the weekend, it was busy but we expected this due to Great North run. Perfect for us who were competing in the race.
Was were aware of the pub below and the noise but the music stopped 11pm
Have stayed at The Cairn in Newcastle half a dozen time and always had an enjoyable stress free stay.
A large superior room on the 2nd floor which had a walk in shower in bathroom.
Great location in Jesmond but several things let the place down. The room was not the cleanest but fine as we were only staying one night. Until early hours of the morning, people were walking up and down the corridors, speaking loudly and slamming doors (sounded like the same individuals). We were woken up at around 8am to the loud drainage pipes and then to the dripping water that was coming into the room and onto the wardrobe and eventually dripping on the floor. We told reception and asked to move rooms to get ready in but was told no and all they did was send someone who put a towel on top of the wardrobe while it was still dripping. Not a great experience, especially for the cost.
Great check in, room okay bit tired. Parking at rear of building. Bar downstairs great, good food and lovely staff.

It was a good stay in a convenient and safe area. Room was a good size and well appointed. Value for money was fabulous, but TV didn’t work, no tissues in tissue box, bedside lamp didn’t work and the room was very warm. Windows didn’t open very wide but a fan was provided (it wasn’t a particularly good fan but it did help a little.)We asked for TV issue to be addressed and it was dealt with quickly and room service sorted out the tissues. Forgot to tell them about the bedside lamp. Attached restaurant SoHe was very good. We had a lovely meal there. We also opted for breakfast included and it was good. Not a huge range but definitely good enough. Staff at the hotel and in the restaurant were very good.

Good value for price paid
Stayed at carlton hotel opposite, room was clean and tidy, good for the cost, however was very warm which was strange as weather outside was 17 degrees and no heating on? There was a fan in the room which we used constantly. Stayed mid week so no issues with loud noise, doors slamming shut can be noisy. Breakfast was in main Cairn Hotel, good selection, well cooked and attentive waiter, would consider return probably when weather cooler.
