Very small bath tub, I am only 5’11 and had a hard time, loud neighbours, and very strange smell in the room, had a very rough night of sleep due to the heat and lack of cooling facilities

The hotel was convenient to trains and Metro, which is what I needed. I arrived before check-in yet they were able to check me in then, which I was very grateful for. The breakfast was grest and in a beautiful dining room. The only very small flaw was that the bathroom fan never shut off. But I could close the door and not hear it.

Brilliant location literally over the road from train station and bang central for town and shops, quayside and utilia arena. Was down for concert with daughter and couldn’t have been more perfect for what we needed. Well kept hotel on all fronts and staff brilliant too.

On the whole this is a great hotel check in was maybe a little slow but the staff were great however the hotel offers room service but there are no phones in the room so we dialled direct and after a few attempts were put through to someone who told us they were too busy and could only do pizza, fine by us but then the line went dead and we were unable to get a reply at all after that so we gave up. Not good to offer room service when it can’t be fulfilled.

Great location for all bars and restaurants with the station opposite. It has a small car park which is £10 per day. Hotel is lovely and staff are welcoming. Has its own bar and restaurant. We stayed in a standard double room on 4th floor overlooking the station. Decor was nice but cleaning was missing in places especially the bathroom. Looked like it had been refurbished but finishing off was poor with paint splashes on tired woodwork. Bathroom had a tiny sink with a tap that hardly hung over the basin so difficult to use. Room was extreamly hot as had no aircon but if you opened windows at night it was difficult to sleep due to traffic and partying outside. Breakfast is buffet style and was quoted at £14.95 but when we went for breakfast we were told it had gone up that day to £19.95! When we complained they dropped it to £10! Bar was supposed to close at 1am but clised at 10.30pm on a Saturday night... However we really enjoyed our stay and will come back again but maybe upgrade to a junior suite with aircon!

County hotel is in a position, old looks add to the experience. Booked with a city view, 5th floor you could just see the top of central station. Floor boards need attention, bed was old with springs broken. £50 deposit required for each person per night incase of breakages. Good position was the best thing about this hotel.

Fantastic stay got no issues. Only thing I would say is maybe the carpet in the city rooms need new as it’s very old and stained but didn’t affect our stay. Would defo stay again
