Nice place!
Great location. Short walk to absolutely everything. Love staying in an older historical hotel where efforts are made to provide the best of both worlds. Mattress could have been a bit better quality but not a deal breaker. Bathroom does not have a ceiling fan so it can get a bit steamy, but once again not a deal breaker. Definitely recommend the place.

Enjoyable stay, but hotel misses the mark a little
A cool boutique hotel in the ciy center; in need a bit of a facelift. Multiple minor things in the room which could do with attention (e.g., shower door not quite fitting right any more, the hairdrier in the room being broken, etc). No single major thing, just a lot of minor things which probably used to be perfect but aren't now.

An excellent hotel with very helpful staff.
Comfortable room. Very helpful and friendly staff. The shower needs some maintenance - I noticed it had leaked onto the floor to the left of the shower screen. Also the shower was leak below the spray head.

Handsome furnishings,linen,& building. Breakfast has moved to the basement instead of lovely dining room,so I did not eat,no room service even for coffee & pastries. Attic room with small window,good view of Grey Street. Shower over bath is awkward for elders. Poor wi fi,a nuisance. Took 3 requests to get my room heated. Very peaceful in the attic!

There’s was nothing I didn’t like about this hotel. Everything was perfect and clean. The staff behind the desk were extremely kind to us and the cleaners were lovely and did a great job, thank you so much to them. We will definitely be coming back.

Close to station and shops with friendly reception staff. Very noisy bar and sound proofing between rooms could be better. Restaurant food good but lots of local options for eating. Bedroom bit tired with bathroom in need of new floor and a deep clean. Hairdryer electrical safety tag out of date. Spa treatments reasonably priced and availability good.

The room we checked into had a step up just inside the entry which was not lit or marked. I tripped on it, broke my ankle had to change 2 weeks of holiday plans at great expense- had to stay a second night in the hotel and they offered absolutely nothing for the inconvenience and suffering. Did not even offer to pay for the second night. Taking no liability whatsoever for a tripping hazard not marked. Shame on the Malhotra Group that owns this hotel

Lovely hotel, staff were super polite and the junior suite was amazing, however I went down for dinner at 19:45 and was told the restaurant was no longer serving food. Apparently, dinner service closes at 19:30 and the kitchen fully closes at 20:00. This seems ridiculously early for a city centre hotel. Great location for a couple that can walk around and find a restaurant, but as a solo person wanting to eat in the hotel facilities, I think the restaurant timings might prevent me from booking this hotel again…..hence my 3 stars rating.
