Loved the apartment
We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, which was so comfortable and perfect for families! Location is right in town and about 10 min from Grandfather Mountain.

We were very pleased with our stay at The Inn at Shady Lawn in Newland! Easy check-in with friendly staff, room was very clean, spacious and well stocked with freash linens. The area was quiet, felt very safe and within easy walking distance to nearby restaurants. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others!

An ice machine would be nice, and better quality coffee for in-room maker use. I would also like a much lighter weight duvet for the summer months…I had to really crank the AC to be comfortable to begin sleeping as it was way too warm a covering for the season, yet just a bedsheet was a bit too cold with mountain night temps.

Running 2 air conditioners in room that were super loud, and only cooled the room to 74/75. Definitely not ideal for sleeping.

We had our daughter's Wedding taking place in Newland. We chose to stay here for the 2 bdrm and Family style accommodations.When we arrived they had said they hadn't received payment when it was completely paid for when made reservation which I provided proof.Then when we went to the room it was a one room small and not what We had paid for. We went back to office and let them know this was not acceptable! They then said we do have that suite availble! Ok we said and accepted it.Then on Saturday after we had come back from rehearsal dinner the GM Frank knocked on our door and said we couldn't stay in that room for the rest of our stay due to another family coming in for a week's stay!! It was the most rudest experience we've ever had! I would like to have our monies returned! This place is horrible and Do NoT recommend anyone to stay here EVer!!

We enjoyed our stay here at the Inn. Convenient and close to our favorite restaurants. Our room was clean, beds were comfy and staff were friendly. Can’t beat the rate and location. The evening was relaxing around the fire pit. The Cranberry Cafe next door had great food! We’ll be back.

A Delightful Step Back in Time
We spent one night here on our way from SC to KY. Our stay was delightful! It felt a bit like a step back in time...in a good way. The inn had a beautifully decorated office upon arrival, and our room was nicely updated with modern conveniences, but reminiscent of a bygone era. It appeared our room had previously been 2 rooms combined, as there was a living/kitchen area and a separate bedroom/bath area of equal size. Everything was clean, spacious, and convenient. There was even a restaurant on-site (not affiliated with the inn) that was just as charming, where we had a delicious breakfast. There were also other restaurants within walking distance, one of which was an excellent Mexican restaurant we ate at the night we arrived. I would definitely recommend this inn as a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

Bathroom was very nicely renovated with beautiful Jacuzzi bathtub, separate shower, double sinks with complimentary soaps ,shampoos etc, towels folded and super clean, we had separate bedrooms and living area very nice with large flat screen TV, Super tidy and clean not a speck of dust! Little bit noisy since its on busy street but can't remove a star because of it, we had breakfast at " The Cranberry Inn , located right next to the Inn, best breakfast ever!!

Very nice, clean large room and the bed was very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is pitiful and the shower light seemed to put out about 10 watts of light, but everything else was very nice.
