Great location- loud do to internal staff
Noise level is high, for a mid-week, off season visit. Noise is not high from outdoor/tourist traffic, but from staff themselves. Evening/overnight staff were extremely loud and unpleasant. It's not the best spot to travel with a child, as there are many stairs and you have to park off site (through a busy parking lot). Additionally, there are no bathtubs. Pros are the location, can't beat it and the breakfast was sufficient. There was also a lovely woman staffing the desk during the day-appreciate her!

Fun time on the Newport Coast
We loved staying at the Doryman's Inn and it is a fabulous location! It has the perfect vibe for the name and it has very comfortable facilities. We felt very secure and enjoyed our stay. One issue for our room number 8 was the location on the street with a lot of parking lot and street noise. However the ear plugs we were given from the front desk really helped the situation and we were able to get good sleep. It was so nice to see the ocean driectly from our room and to watch the sunset in the evening. The continental breakfast was well done.

We stayed in room 8 and we loved the location with the corner views. We enjoyed the history of the hotel and the decor, though it could use a little clean-up of some details in the bathroom- wallpaper and floor definitely have seen better days. The breakfast patio is lovely but the rooftop area needs work to the point that it’s not comfortable. The inn is in a very walkable place with lots of food choices and some shopping right there. This is good and bad at the same time because it keeps the area very noisy until about 3 AM, am even on weeknights. Staff are nice but they don’t have boundaries, knocking on doors often. The beach is lovely and idyllic. If not for the noise I would stay here again, but it’s just too intrusive during the day and especially at night.

This is a nice spacious place to stay within easy walking distance to Newport Beach, Newport Pier, Restaurants, and the walk way on the beach. It is surrounded by bars open till 2:00 AM and in room 10 you are very close to the bars. If you want quiet at night on the weekends you may not get it. If you want to be in the middle of the lively and beautiful Newport Beach area and the attractive people there this is a great place. We had a great time.

This is a perfect place from which to walk on the beaches and boardwalk of Newport Beach. The rooms are absolutely beautiful! You might need earplugs, which the desk provided, due to the popularity of nearby bars and restaurants.

Great couples stay
I came to celebrate my anniversary. I was contacted by Lauren before my stay and was offered packages for our special night. I decided not to get the packages but the option was very nice. Also, after speaking to Antoinette at the front desk she had informed us that she could help book a fishing trip at one of the local charters, unfornately we were only staying the one day and could not take advantage of this perk. The room was very cozy and we loved the old style decor. The location is great, TONS of options for drinks and dinner within walking distance. The view of the beach right outside our window was amazing as well. I would highly recommend and will be looking to stay again for another special occasion. Another cool thing is it is right in the heart of downtown Newport and you feel like a VIP having a private entrance up to your room right off the main street.
