Room was very small and dated. Bathroom was old and very small with no ventilation fan. With the exception of the lobby area, the hotel is very dated and depressing.

Our 50th Wedding Anniversary
We arrived early and where able to check in before 4:00. We were hoping to get a room closer to the front of the hotel, but we ended up in a room at the farthest end of the building. The room was very nice, and we had no issues with anything. Our stay in Newport was enjoyable, and I had a chance to visit my earlier residences in the city and to reminisce about places I knew from my childhood. My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Newport, since it invoked fond memories of my life there. I had always wanted to stay at the "Hotel Viking".

The property was nicely decorated for the holidays, the staff were very polite and the room was well kept. The proximity to Thames street was walkable and convenient. We were glad we chose this hotel and would stay here again.

The staff were great including valet. The hotel was noisy, we heard the people in the room above us walking around. The hotel was centrally located, we walked to Thames street for shopping and dinner. We also did the less than two mile walk to mansions.

I would love to thank the lady who checked us in. She was amazing and was able to get us a room earlier than usual. The bad. Our room had no heat for a couple of hours. They fixed it but it took a while. Our room was under a wedding party. We could not sleep until 3 am. Not relaxing.
