Unique hotel. Excellent, clean, quiet room with great view over Dartmoor. Good size bathroom with large shower cubicle. Food excellent.

Nice weekend break with good food
Nice hotel with good food and the Staff were all great. With lots of hotels, the room was so warm even once we turned the radiator down. Given the cost of energy, I’m surprised the default is not having a cool room with instructions for guest on how to turn it up if they wish

Stayed with an elderly family member. Rooms were nice with some lovely touches (Dyson hairdryer, pillow spray, nice radio) but very small and quite noisy - could easily hear footsteps and voices above. The handheld showers in both rooms were leaking; and things like trying to locate radiator valve to put heat on caused unnecessary stress. Breakfast was excellent and the communal lounge area was very pleasant. I didn’t stay with dogs but based on the dog amenities I have recommended to friends.

Every area at this property was tastefully decorated and a lounge with plenty of sofas to sit on and relax. The views were lovely and food that was served in restaurant or bar was cooked to perfection. My new favourite hotel!!

Such a beautiful place to stay, all the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The only downside is as it’s quite remote getting transportation anywhere if you don’t have a car is a little difficult.

The hotel was very relaxed and quite. The staff were excellent, always smiling. The only thing that spoiled our stay was that one of our party of five was informed they could not supply a cup of coffee because the machine was not working. Although every room had a coffee machine. This was at dinner, around 2030hrs.

Fantastic hotel
We stayed here for one night on our way to Cornwall. It was a lovely hotel, with both a restaurant and pub attached. Food was wonderful and the staff really good. It is within Dartmoor so great walks all around. Would highly recommend this hotel and we hope to return.

Enjoyed the food, enjoyed the drink. Place was clean and tidy. Would be happy to stay there again. Being picky, the staff should have been quicker at removing empty glasses from our table. Oh, and a Christmas tree up in September? Seriously? That is the only negative I can think of.

Wonderful room beautiful views, staff are friendly and helpful. Yummy breakfast choices. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore Dartmoor, turn left out of the entrance and you are on the moor.
