This place has very much seen better days. I didn't arrive in time to try their restaurants so I can't be any judge of that, but the rooms had no AC, I found an Ant twice in my room (and you know if you find one then there are MORE !), hair on my sheets, and everything had a very worn and stained look (walls, wallpaper, etc). The Onsen part wasn't too good either. A lot of the hallways had half hazard done patches from holes punched or kicked into the walls. When I talked to the staff about my room they apologized and that was it. When I left they gave me $10 vouchers for next time I visit (I WON'T !).
A great hotel, excellent ambience and surrounding environment. Staff do not communicate in English. But first time I ever feel one of the staff did something dishonorable in Japan was to cancel our booking slot for a private onsen and gave it to another. I have never encountered this in Japan before.
The hotel locates next to the suspension bridge, restaurants, and small shops. The building and rooms are dated but have renovated the bathrooms and tatami matts. The buffet dinner, buffet breakfast, and all-you-can drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) are a must. We enjoyed them. The foods were delicious, lots of options, and well prepared. There are drinks for everyone’s needs. The internet speed was fast throughout our room. The gentleman at the reception speaks English perfectly and is friendly. We definitely come back again.

Location was great. The view around the hotel was great. We enjoyed exploring around the area. The kids enjoyed the pool and the game room. The buffet was nice too.
The hotel itself is very old.
We booked this hotel at the last minute for an overnight stay. Sadly I didn't read the reviews! I found this hotel to be old, in poor condition and unclean. Also the pool is drained empty for 9 months of the year, my son was very upset.
Would I stay again... NO! But the property is affordable and room was large. I would suggest choosing somewhere else if this hotel meets your price point
So it should be non smoking hotel, but I could smell the cigarette. bath in room smells and bath tub was very old and visually unsanitary.
Dinner selection was OK so as drink varieties.
But it was chaotic Since it was buffet.
It wasn’t bad for price. But won’t go back this hotel chain anymore.

advanced payment (前受金) ?
The staff could not explain the reason of the advanced payment (前受金) and I didn't have the refund after the check out.
I liked free private hot spring with outside view. We have three elementary boys and moms could not have a same gender bath, so we reserved a private bath looking over mountains and bridge view at reception and all family could enjoy hot spring together. Ping Pong tables and karaoke rooms were also free to reserve. In addition, I loved alcohols bar at buffet. Draft beer server machines were cool. Our group was age 5-79. We all enjoyed hot springs and food. A few drawbacks were cleanliness and visible ware outs due to facility age. However Hotel can update or maintains recreational equipments better. Futons are used feathers, so if you have allergy, make sure if you can get alternatives. My futon must have a hole and when I woke up, my hair was covered with feathers! But that was only mine. Other 6 family futons were fine. We had a good time.

Enjoyed the Stay But.....
Great dinner/breakfast buffets. The stay included half board (dinner, breakfast), but the hotel may mistakenly charge for them according to billing statements for the 3 rooms. Please remind the hotel that meals are included in the all paid for stay. Thank you. Walter Abe. 7/11/18
