Acceptable hotel room that meets all the basics. The room is small and feels a little cramped at times. Staff were helpful and spoke some English. The lobby has a side door that leads directly to Yotsubashi subway station which is really convenient. The hotel is located next to Amerika-mura, and about 15-20 minute walk to Dotonburi. There are several convenience stores very close to the hotel. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a coin laundry, and the nearest one is ~10 minutes walk away.

Terrible unfriendly staff while I was checking in approx 1.20pm the front office told us we are not allow to sit at the sofa at the lobby. Why guest being treated this manner. Smile Hotel staff doesn't look happy at all What is happening to Thier management. Moreover, maintainace at all bedroom floor carpet peel off we have to wear our shoe during our stay. Mattress lopsided unable to sleep peacefully this hotel need to refurbish. Will not recommend to other. Unfriendly / guest not allow to sit at the lobby sofa.

Very small rooms and a bit run down. Could use with some updating. Its conveniently located enough to a lot of things. A lot of the front staff don't speak English but the gentlemens that did during our stay were very kind and helpful when we required a bit of assistance with luggage transport.

The property and furnishings were serviceable but slightly dated. The location is amazing, with a subway entrance right outside and the shinsaibashi-dori entrance just a few minutes walk away. The staff are very helpful. All in all a very comfortable stay. Would stay again.

So, I just booked with Smile Hotel again, this time in an awesome spot! It's surrounded by loads of restaurants, shops, and best of all, it's only a 10-minute walk from Dotonbori!

Very clean and cosy. Conveniently just above Yotsubashi station (a metro station, not a JR station). Walkable to Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi shopping street. For 600yen, one can buy a breakfast coupon to have a traditional Japanese breakfast in the restaurant across the road. Aeon supermarket across the road is wonderful. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Smile Hotel.
