Genet House Holiday Home

Genet House Holiday Home offers self-catering accommodation and is an ideal holiday home in Marloth Park. It’s located close to Gate 1 and provides easy access to all wildlife activities that are offered within the Southern region of South Africa's famous Kruger National Park.

Genet House is a holiday home where families can spend quality time together by swimming in the pool, cooking in the kitchen, enjoying a braai, playing a game of pool on the pool table, watching live sports on the large TV, or taking turns to feed the wildlife. On other days, enjoy a walk or cycle round Marloth Park, or drive the river road, stopping off at each of the viewing points.

The house comprises 4 air-conditioned bedrooms and can accommodate 8 adults and 5 children in total. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed, a cot, and a child-only couch. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed, the third bedroom has a double bed, and the fourth bedroom comprises 2 single beds. There are sleeper couches available to sleep 3 children in the living area. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. All the beds have mosquito nets and Egyptian linen.

The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with a fridge, oven and stove, and microwave. The front sliding doors open the whole main area of the house ensuring one large entertainment area.

Marloth Park has 2 bush shopping centres suitable for self-catering supplies, however, there are larger grocery stores in the towns of Malalane and Komatipoort. There are several restaurants in Marloth Park to choose from.

House as listed, Host has cameras and he USES them
The house is as expected from the online pictures and amenities list. The host seemed nice. The wildlife come right to your door and it is very nice. There was no shampoo, only body wash. While I was there the host called me to tell me that my bbq was too close to the house for his liking, apparently he looked at the camera. When I didn't move it (because it was scorching hot, it would've been more dangerous to move it at those temperatures, especially considering that there was a fire extinguisher right there) he texted me again asking me to move it, he checked his cameras again. The next day when I came back to the house I noticed that the lights were off, the bedroom doors were closed, and the AC's were off, I was confused because I had told him that I didn't want housekeeping. I texted him asking if anyone was there, and he responded that yes he had been there, WITHOUT informing me first!!! Then I noticed that there is a cctv camera in the main room of the house. YES IN THE HOUSE!!! Which he had obviously checked otherwise how would he have known that the lights were on? At this point I asked him to please not look at the cameras or come unnanounced for the duration of my stay. His response was that it was a good thing he looked at the cameras because he was able to see that I placed my bbq too close to the house for his liking, along with pictures of me grilling. Totally ignoring the fact that checking his cameras while I was there was a gross invasion of my privacy.
