With a prepaid reservation the property was unable to provide a room. Checking time was 4pm this occurred at 10pm. A number of guests experienced the same issue. A couple were even told that they didn’t have a reservation. Staff couldn’t explain why nor should they provide any clarity of when it would be resolved.

Entire cleaning staff walked out the day we arrived. We were unable to get into our reserved room until 10:00pm. Remaining staff was stressed, but definitely trying. Breakfast buffet was very good. Hotel could use some updates, but still very nice.

Checkin was at 4 but room not ready until 7:30pm After a 6 hour drive, it was challenging not having access to a room. Hotel compensated us with a free domestic beer. Two of our bath towels were dirty. Just not the standard I was used to at the Overton

This was my second time staying at The Overton and I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The first time I stayed, my room was perfect. The King bed was so comfortable and the room was very clean. AC works very well! The second trip was disappointing. There was a dirty plate outside the door, the bathroom smelled like urine and the tub did not drain when we showered. The Queen beds were hard and the pillows were very thin. The employees were very friendly and we really enjoyed the bar and the food was very good. Although we were disappointed this trip we will stay again.

I loved the live entertainment on 2 of our 4 nights. Good service in the bar. There’s no “free breakfast” as indicated on their website. There’s no complimentary coffee in the lobby, ever. Im not a Starbucks fan or supporter. Tiny Keurig in the room that leaks all the water out. No microwave in room, refrigerator didn’t work. Air conditioner didn’t cool well & saturated carpet.

Great views, close to the univesity
It was a great experience. I travel to Lubbock often and was always told the Overton was the hotel to go to. It was our first time there and we were very impress to its ambience and staff. The view was amazing to see the TT stadium and the city. A quick walk to the university, shopping and nearby pubs. Very classy. Would like to return in the future.

So disappointed :(
The stay was actually awful. Room 926, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The right side of the bed was broken down and lumpy. No soap or shampoo was provided. A 1st or 2nd floor room was requested and that was denied. Super disappointed as it used to be very nice but clearly things have changed.
