About this space
A private, peaceful space 2 blocks from St. Olaf College and less than 1 mile from downtown and Carleton College.
Our location is convenient, cozy and unique being an old ginseng farm, the duplex has a rural feel and is tucked away from the street.

Enjoy a patio space to grill at while soaking in the outdoors. We have a fully equipped kitchen, but the Ole Store, a Northfield favorite, is just down the block.
Dogs are allowed when added on the reservation and pet fee has been paid for.
The space
Best suited for adults or families with older children but all ages of children are welcome. (Adults must be 25 or older to book.) You know best what works for your family!

The only bathroom is on the first floor and the bedrooms are upstairs.

Stylish jewel box
The Hidden Cottage is so tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed, and an ideal location from which to visit our daughter during St Olaf’s Christmasfest. I will definitely hope to stay again at this charming cottage duplex unit. The property is compact, with very steep stairs to the two bedrooms. Something to know, as the stairs were a bit of a worry with my 85 year old father who stayed with us.

Great stay in a great area

Beautiful and quiet
Very comfortable stay while visiting Carleton, everything easy. Bonus that there were no heavy scents used for cleaning (I am sensitive to fragrance). Glad we stayed here and hope to visit again

We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere the house provided. Also a happy surprise that was unmentioned in the listing was the basket of old books and toys in the basement, our boys loved curling up on the couch in the little downtime we had to read Dr. Seuss books.
