This hotel was great for an overnight stay! Staff so helpful and friendly! Liked the black & white bathrooms! Plenty of mirrors! Good parking and nice entrance and bar area! The rooms could do with a little make over especially the carpets but would stay here again!
Expectation was high considering it was ex-Dakota. However it left me disappointed.
The hotel has the soul of the Dakota however the below really struck me back.
The tv in the room is too high up built on a shelf which looks a bit meh.
The carpet is well used and walking on barefoot think twice, horrible feeling and spiky bits.
The bed is absolutely categorically the worst I have slept on, you could feel the springs as you lay down onto it, I was closer to the wooden base than I was being supported, ended up doubling the quilt to make a additional comfort topper, still woke up with either side of me in pain due to the unsupported mattress.
The tray charge is an absolute joke £7.5 i would have expected this to be no more than £5. The food is above average, decent but again overpriced. Never stayed for breakfast but it also was overpriced, which at this point they are more about profits.
This needs a lot to overtake the Dakota hotels I’ve stayed at and needs to reign back the costs significantly to get future customers coming back again.
We were staying at the hotel and attending a wedding reception at the same venue. Tried to get into the restaurant as the buffet provided to the wedding party was not sufficient. The guy in the bar and grill refused to serve us drinks or food as we "should have gone to the wedding bar." Then we were too late for food, even tho they served a couple seconds in front of us asking for food. Room was modern and clean but mattress was too hard for my liking.
The hotel is in desperate need of a face lift and full rework, very dark lighting, little to no signal in the rooms forcing you to use their wifi which is even worse. Bathrooms dull and dirty, shows heads full of limescale and black mould.
I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times over the last 10+ years but this was the last time.
For the price they charge it’s daylight robbery
Here on business, got a taxi into Hucknall plenty of pubs and restaurants so all good. Not much other choice tbf.

Fourth stay at this hotel. It’s a great position for what we need . But the public areas and the rooms are beginning to look very tired . Leather sofa all torn and no support. Breakfast is just alright . On the plus side it’s good value for money
I booked a twin room and ended up getting a double not great when you are staying with your 16 year old son but the hotel did sort out a camp bed for one of us to sleep on the hotel staff did a great job sorting that out with no trouble so I take my hat of to them for that but it would of been nice to have got the room type we had booked would definitely stay again very modern hotel great value for the money
