Very good

Our stay welcome/arrival, food and cleanliness were all fine. Bed was awful like sleeping on planks of wood. Then we were embarrassed at checkout they were insisting we hadn’t paid for room when we had even after showing our receipt they were trying to get us to pay again, drinks charged to our table that wasn’t ours. On checking our online banking for drinks we paid for at the bar some of the receipts were double the price of any drinks we had. Absolutely disgusted!
I booked 3 rooms for a work trip. on arrival i was allocated to the Greyhound building - room 18. Heating was very high (like a sauna) no way to regulate in the room as all valves broken. Shower was a trickle of cold water and neither pressure or heat could be regulated. as i was here 2 nights on the second day i was having to use my colleagues bathroom facilitates. Night 1 reported the heating and was told it was regulated by a ground floor room occupier. day 2 i reported the shower to the manager who said they would look at it. I heard no more.

Ok for 1 night
Clean small room with 4 poster bed. Had a WiFi signal but Internet is not even fast enough to lead facebook. Netflix is out of the question. Shower pressure very low
Nice hotel in lovely surroundings. Room was excellent and comfortable, restaurant and bar was very good and well stocked. Staff very helpful and polite. Food very tasty.
Would stay there again.

The pub and restaurant are really nice and food very good quality my room was a little tired and needed improvement but was adequate
This was a lovely pub stay in a nice quiet room with very friendly staff. Comfortable bed, good shower and spacious room with desk where I was able to work. I didn’t eat there but the food and restaurant looked amazing. They have tribute evenings which I will definitely go to in the future. I didn’t give them a perfect 5 because one of the chairs in my room was broken and it could have collapsed under me if I hadn’t spotted it in time. I reported it straight away and was told housekeeping would sort it - they never turned up at all! Luckily there was another chair in the room which was very comfortable. Down the road is Sutton Wharf which is well worth a visit. I will definitely return in the future
We booked to stay here on a Sunday night after spending a day at nearby Mallory Park race circuit. We paid £140 for a one night stay in a deluxe bedroom. We arrived at the hotel to find it closed. No staff, no reception, no bar, no restaurant, nothing. Apparently they are closed on a Sunday from mid afternoon until Monday evening. WHY DID THEY ACCEPT OUR BOOKING AND NOT INFORM US THAT THEY WERE CLOSED? There was a note stuck to the reception door stating that our room( which was outside of the main building) was left unlocked for us.We were left to fend for ourselves. So we had paid £140 for a night in a hotel with NO staff (what if there had been an emergency?), NO bar (we had just spent a very hot day walking around Mallory Park and wanted a nice cold drink when we arrived at our hotel), NO Restaurant to have a meal at after a hard hot day on our feet.
The room itself was nice with a decent sized room and bathroom but could do with a bit of TLC. The shower was rubbish with little water pressure and a loose shower head. The curtains were threadbare. The double glazed window was old, shabby and had moisture between the panes. The bed was great and really comfortable.
The £140 did not include breakfast as the hotel was closed on the Monday morning.
WE HAVE TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO TRY AND GET A REASONABLE REFUND FOR OUR STAY BUT THE HOTEL COULDN'T CARE LESS.
We will never stay here again and could not recommend that anybody else stays here.
Lovely quiet location, service and food was very good. Nice garden for when the weather allows. Only negative was the bed, in keeping with the style but was very noisy, every time I moved it creaked and sounded like it might fall apart so not a good nights sleep and the mattress could be improved, also TV was very small and needs an upgrade. Other than that the experience was very good, nice size room, clean, plenty of parking and a nice atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff.
From 1.30 in the morning to 4.40 on the second night the plumbing/ventilation system began knocking and humming very loudly and I was unable to sleep through it There was no night porter to report this to and the telephone No. was on voicemail. Also the second evening meal, seafood curry was not great.
