I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here, due to the very poor customer service and aloofness of the staff.
I have to say that I'm very disappointed with the management of Ostello Bello Bagan Pool, with Mr. Rosta Navara, the hotel General Manager in particular. As I couldn't get my travel visa to Myanmar in time, I had to unfortunately cancel my trip, and also my hotel booking. So I proceeded to call the hotel to confirm that I can get a full refund before cancelling.
I called 5 times but no one answered my call. When I finally managed to reach someone (Rosta), he told me that I will not get a single cent of refund for my 3-nights stay, as I had just passed the hotel cancellation deadline. The reality is if someone had answered my call in any of the 5 times I called, I would have been able to cancel in time.
Rosta was aloof, unapologetic and unreasonable. He has a total lack of understanding what good customer service looks like. He chose to ignore the fact that the hotel's poor responsiveness had cost me my 3-nights worth of stay. But cost aside, it's a matter of principles. After going through the stress and disappointment of a cancelled holiday, I had to further endure the terrible attitude of Rosta.
In all the hotels of the 30 countries I've visited before, I have encountered only friendly hotel staff who know the importance of making customers happy. Ostello Bello & Rosta is not one of them, and will never gain my or my friends' patronage ever.
