Tourist trap
As with all self-check-in hotels, there is no one to talk to, and your requests and questions in written form are likely to be ignored. Arguably, this is a better outcome than dealing with the grumpy old man at reception when there is actually someone on the premises. Be prepared for hidden fees in the form of parking and city tax; they would tax the air you breathe if they could. Proximity to the lake means abundance of flies and mosquitoes. The rooms are not isolated for sound, you will be hearing other guests in the hallway day and night, having conversations or using the shared toilet at 2am.

This hotel is expensive for what you get , it can not be considered a hotel as you don’t have any common areas , there is no way to access the backyard , there is no one after 5 and there is nothing to eat around. The room is too small & too basic .

I must express my biggest disappointment in one of the staff members in this hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 5:30pm and did the self-check-in. I went to the front desk the next morning to ask if I needed to fill out any paperwork. I talked to the person (wearing glasses) at the front desk and filled out the paperwork. Then, if he said that you need to pay the parking fee. I just said “oh, it’s not free parking” conversationally because I had been travelling for about 20 days and I had booked many hotels and didn’t remember which hotels provided free parking or not. Unexpectedly, the person stared at me with stone-faced looking and condescending voice asking me “did you read the email? You must read the email we sent now!” He sounded that I didn’t want to pay the parking fee that made feel very frustrated and uncomfortable. I just paid and left. I received an email later from him and blamed me for not reading the email. To make matters worse... Because there was no water pot in our room to make tea or coffee, my wife went to the dining room of the hotel to get some hot water. The same guy, who worked at the front desk also worked in the dining room, told my wife that she was not allowed get hot water because we did not make breakfast reservations. His attitude was cold and rude. I am 68 years old and have travelled to many different countries. Needless to say, this is the worst hospitality service I’ve ever encountered in my life! In my opinion, this individual is not

It's a great way to visit Hallstatt by staying here. The beautiful view is also present in this accomodation. The self check in after hours can be a bit confusing but great help from the restaurant owner nearby.

Perfect stay
We had an absolutely delightful stay at this charming bed and breakfast! The location couldn't be more perfect, with direct access to the ferry that takes you straight to Hallstatt and just a short walk from the train station. The convenience made our travel so effortless and enjoyable. The view from our balcony was nothing short of whimsical, offering breathtaking scenery that we could enjoy at any time of day. In the morning we enjoyed a fresh and delicious breakfast that provided the perfect start to our day of exploring. And let's not forget the beds – they were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights throughout our stay. We are already looking forward to planning our return trip to this wonderful place!

Great Location
The location of this hotel is amazing as it overlooks Hallstätter See in the quiet village of Obertraun. The room was very basic but clean and comfortable enough. It is on the expensive side for what you get but you are paying for location and this is why you would stay here. Instructions for self check-in were very clear and well received well in advance. Staff were friendly too.

rather good for the money no traffic quite easy to walk around and the air is clean, you can not see it. only problem is lack of various resturants, there were two but Hallstatt is 3 miles away and full of any thing you may want to eat

Situated on Lake Hallstatt with great views of the lake and surround area. Has great access to all transportation to Hallstatt, being right next to to dock and bus station and a scenic 3 mile walk around the lake. This hotel is located next to the Obertraun train station. More calm and less hectic than Hallstatt itself, which is great as Hallstatt is just a quick boat or bus ride away. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was great. Rooms were very clean and a great perk with the balcony. The lakeside patio was an amazing addition to this hotel. Only lower than 5 star rating was the surrounding area which had limited food options...but again, worth is since the area was less crazy with tourists and Hallstatt is easy to get to. Lastly, the price of this place for being right on the lake is unbeatable. Will be staying here again.

The staff was unhelpful and not exactly courteous. We had no front desk when we checked in. The hotel next to us was better with a helpful front desk and helped us out with information. I would not go back to our hotel again
