The cabin is very secluded in the lush greenery of southwestern Pennsylvania. This cozy cabin has a solid-wood interior and comfortably sleeps 4 guests. Inside the cabin, you will find a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room, modern kitchen, master bedroom overlooking the forest, and a beautiful bathroom. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee while you watch the birds dance through the trees and perhaps get a glimpse of some of our wildlife! The A Place in the Pines offers the comforts of home some of which are: Private location, fully equipped kitchen, full size stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, blow dryer, washer & dryer. All towels and bed linens, TV/DVD player, stone gas-burning fireplace in living room also included. This unit also includes High Speed Internet with WIFI throughout the house. Left a day early because my husband and I have allergies and someone had animals (cats)in the house prior to our arrival. My husbands shirt was covered with hair. We both had severe headaches and felt like we were going to throw up.

Pennsylvania vacation
We spent five nights at the Place in the Pines in mid-September. The property was clean, comfortable and perfect for two people. Although there are no biking or hiking trails within walking distance of the house, it's an easy drive to Ohiopyle, the GAP trail, and other trails in nearby West Virginia. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we schedule another vacation in the area.

Nice getaway
We liked staying here . Very close to all activities in Ohiopyle but very private. Use extra caution, turn to get into the driveway comes up very quickly on the windy roads and you can bottom out easily at the end of it. The house has everything needed for simple cooking. Microwave needs to have door handle replaced and outdoor table has rusted legs making it uneven. We still enjoyed all our meals outside listening to the birds .

Just a quick stop to re-acquaint with area. finally toured falling waters. Wow. Really enjoyed food and atmosphere at both the Braddock and the Stone House. Could probably save your self some energy/time if you asked guests if they interested in having hot tube "ready to use " when they arrived or if they intended to use at all. Appreciated it being there but to hot to event think of using it... Would definately consider coming back...

Lovely Cabin
We enjoyed our stay in this little house. It was extremely clean and cozy. Seating was superb with huge comfy recliners. The bed was super comfy. Great lighting for cooking and reading - thanks for providing enough light to see. So many windows to let in natural light - newer windows so we were able to open them and let the fresh air in. Great shower. Plenty of cookware; working appliances although the microwave should be replaced soon. Heat pump. This is an older home and needs a lot of outside maintenance but the inside has all been renovated. The driveway at the entrance needs gravel. A cutting board is needed in the kitchen and at least one nightstand in the bedroom would be helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Exactly what we were looking for!
Everything was as described. The inside was clean, it smelled like smoke (fire not cigarette) but otherwise we were happy. The location was perfect for the 2 of us. We wanted to enjoy Ohiopyle during the day but wanted something quiet for the nights. We had our German shepherd with us, she loved running around the yard. Looking forward to staying again soon.

We have not stayed anywhere in PA before but we like to find new areas for vacation. This was in a great location, there were many hiking areas within minutes. The hot tub was great after longs treks.

Lovely Getaway Spot
I stayed at a Place in the Pines for a short overnight trip with my husband and son. The house was smaller than expected and I was curious about how it could sleep 4 people with only one bedroom area (plus couch). However, it was a clean space, exactly what we needed and the hot tub and secluded outdoor space was perfect. I would definitely come back for a getaway with my husband, as it seems like the perfect place for a little couples weekend.

Overall the place was amazing and perfect for a great romantic weekend away and a great recovery place after some hard whitewater rafting. The hot tub was perfect. Our only complaint would be the bed. It’s to soft and the frame not put together well. Upgrade the bed and this place is a 5 outta 5! We will book again. Just hope bed gets upgraded. Thanks!!

OVR service is excellent
We experienced unforeseen problems with our rental, but OVR staff quickly resolved them and made sure we were able to enjoy our stay in the mountains. They were responsive and polite. We were very impressed with how they jumped right in Friday evening and early Saturday to take care of us and our pets.

The property was exactly as described. It was quaint and tucked away just enough to have a nice quiet getaway from home. Only small issue that we had is that the brush at the end of the driveway obstructs your view of traffic coming down the hill.

My husband and I enjoyed our 25th wedding anniversary at this little getaway.. really enjoyed the jacuzzi as the snow fell. Private, but close to all we needed. Great food and entertainment at Braddock’s just 5 min away. Thanks for a lovely weekend!
