Host cancelled after our check in time and we had arrived to area
Our check in time was 3pm and although the booking was accepted and property details provided, we were not send the code to access the key box. We messaged the host for the final access details as we were arriving and got no response. We called VRBO who provded details to contact the host directly and also no response. We then recieved a message at 3:45pm (after the 3pm check in time) cancelling the booking due to a 'water leak'. Why the host was checking for water leaks after the time we were meant to have access to the property and had not checked the property prior to this is unknown and the host has not responded to our follow up query. We would also expect communication as soon as an issue is known about, not due to us chasing them. I would recommend avoiding this property as based on our experience, the host is unreliable and you could end up stranded in Manchester without somewhere to stay.
