The sound of gushing water every time the rooms above us flushed their toilets was gross! Our desk light stopped working (wasn’t the bulb, we checked). Not the outstanding property we expected for the price (over $300 per night). Glad we canceled our second night! Staff was friendly and helpful at breakfast, manager was nice.

The room we had was a 2 room suite. It was very comfortable as well as spacious. Our dog kennel is very large for our Golden and the room easily accommodated it. Would stay here again.

The restaurant within the hotel was understaffed. The 2 evenings I ate there, there was 1 person working. She was the waitress, busboy, cashier, hostess. She was overwhelmed. Customers were very kind to her and understood her situation. She needed more help.

Location is great. Lake shore right behind property made for nice sunset views. Easy access to Porcupine Mountains State Park. Facilities okay, no cell service, but that is to be expected in that area. The attached restaurant had good food and drink options.

Beautiful sunsets. Rooms not cleaned daily or even more than when we got there. Elevator didn't work, room was on 3rd floor. Short staffed & dining was very limited or shut down early. Employees complained about working multiple shifts just to try & accommodate some diners. Complaining, complaining, complaining!!!

Everything was wonderful and clean and we felt Well taken care of basically in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast was great and the bar was very helpful however, the restaurant was closed due to staffing issues our second night and it was difficult to find something to replace our plans short notice. Also the pool and hot tub and sauna was also closed our second night so we were disappointed considering g how much it cost for our stay. I also understand it’s later in the season but I paid extra For Those amenities

Great location and views
The location of this hotel is ideal. It is located right on the South shore of Lake Superior and a small river. The view from the lake view room we reserved was fantastic. We also enjoyed sleeping with the drapes open so that we could see all of the stars over the lake while laying in bed. The grounds are also excellent. There are benches and logs to sit on while watching the sunset, looking at stars, or the Northern Lights. Unfortunately we did not see the Northern Lights. They were visible there the night before our arrival.

Only / best hotel near mountains - Breakfast was good. Room was nice, we liked that we could walk to the beach and have a campfire. We did not like the restaurant they are hooked up to, stopped to eat and noticed several people not treated properly, hotel is great - Restaurant skip go to Porkies just down the road!

Location was absolutely perfect for visiting Porcupine Mountains, Lake of the Clouds and evening viewing of sunsets over Lake Superior. The accommodations were comfortable and rooms spacious and updated. The restaurant onsite was a bonus.
