Important towns in the surrounding area include Murcia, Alicante and Cartagena, as well as the beaches of Campoamor and Cabo Roig. Also worth seeing are the famous salt lakes, such as the pink-coloured lagoon near Torrevieja and Mar Menor further south. Sports enthusiasts can also play golf or practise water sports nearby.
