I have stayed at Double Trees in Texas many times and never had any problems until checking in to Florida. My basic expectation of a welcoming appearance is a warm bed with neatly folded, straight sheets. Since I only use one bed, the appearance of the spare bed is offensive.

Maintenance issues since we checked in
Leak in the bathroom and floor was a little wet. No fridge in the room, you had to request one. We were moved to another room but then found out there was no hot water in the hotel due to a water heater problem. They had a technician working on it but could not tell when it would be fixed. We stayed just one night out of three and changed hotels the very next day. It would have been good if they told us they were having issues with the water heater when we checked in so we could have made a decision to stay or not.

We had to be moved from our first room due to a water leak. Only to find the second room had the same problem. The whole place has an odor. It’s an older property and really needs a remodel.

Good option near UCF
Overall, it's fine, and it's very convenient to UCF. You can walk to several places to eat or have a drink. The staff, especially the servers and bartenders, are excellent! Super friendly. Front desk staff, too. The problem with the hotel is that it is old, and it's starting to show its age in the rooms more so than the lobby. But a good place to stay if you have an event at UCF.

The walls are so thin you can hear conversations from adjacent rooms. Beds are the worst ever, breakfast cost was a joke for powdered eggs. Mice all around entrance, one tried to come in. Rooms are old and tile grout was gross. For 206 a night others in the area blow this hotel away with their rooms and service. This hotel needs a remodel.
