The property needs better maintenance. For example, in my room the smoke detector was completely missing and the hole in the wall where the detector should be was covered with a bag, clearly something that was done by hotel staff to cover up the hole, but they didn't replace the smoke detector. That should have been a sign. Then while I was staying there in December, the heat and high fan both went out in the HVAC system to the room. I contacted the front desk, and they told me they would send maintenance to the room, when maintenance arrived he told me to keep running the heat for another 30 minutes (after I told him that I had been running it for a couple of hours) and see if it would get warm and if not to contact the front desk. I set a timer, and in 30 minutes the unit was still blowing cold air into the room, went down to the front desk only to be informed that maintenance had left for the day. The front desk offered to change rooms, so I packed up all my things, and took them back down to the front desk to get a key, only to find that the new room was heavily perfumed with cologne and had stains on the sink where perhaps cologne or lotion had not been cleaned up. I ended up going back to the front desk with all my luggage and asking for an extra blanket because being cold is not as bad as not being able to breathe. Generally the breakfast was good and with that exception staff were pleasant. They need to work on maintenance and cleaning.
