I recently stayed at a hotel in Lake Nona off Narcoossee Road in Orlando, Florida. The location was convenient for my needs, and the shuttle service from the airport was a nice touch. Check-in was quick, and I was given a room on the third floor.
However, the room had major issues. It was clean at first glance, but I soon discovered bedbugs or fleas under the covers and around the room. I got bitten multiple times. To make matters worse, the air conditioner didn't work. Florida is hot, and without AC, I barely got any sleep.
I called the front desk, and they promised to send someone to fix the air conditioner. A maintenance guy came up, but the AC still didn't work after he "fixed" it. Eventually, I was moved to another room where the air conditioner worked, and thankfully, there were no bugs.
On the positive side, the breakfast each day was really good, and the staff were kind and professional. However, they clearly have a pest problem, and I want to warn potential guests about this issue.
Overall, while the staff was great and breakfast was good, the pest problem and malfunctioning AC made for a pretty miserable stay. If they can address these issues, it could be a decent place to stay, but for now, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
