A ‘mosca bianca’ (white fly) is how the locals describe this magical location with its beautifully renovated lamia, private pool, outdoor kitchen with barbecue, pizza oven and very own orange grove, i.e., an exceptionally rare find.
The Lamia has been restored with its original stone features and vaulted ceiling and is situated just a few minutes walk from the old town of Ostuni, The White City, boasting unrivalled sea views, as far as the eye can see, as well as a picture postcard view of the old town.
However, whilst you are a stone's throw from Ostuni, the villa is situated in its own private orange grove where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The original lamia, which is now the sitting room, has been sympathetically extended to include a large kitchen/dining area and 2 double bedrooms, which lead straight out to the pool, all with ensuite bathrooms. The other 2 bedrooms are accessed from outside the main villa right next to the pool and are self-contained. Each bedroom has it's own private access but they are connected by an internal door, which can be locked for privacy. It is easy to access the main building, however, as the outside stairs take you straight up to the kitchen.
From the sitting room you can access the first of two terraces with stunning panoramic views of the beautiful Adriatic coast located just 8km away. The sea views stretch for miles in front of you and, to your left, you have the picture postcard view of the White City.
Ostuni is brimming with restaurants and cool bars and during the summer has a whole host of events in the piazza from live music to art exhibitions to street artists and is buzzing till the early hours. During the day you can relax by the beautiful pool overlooking the orange grove whilst gazing out to sea or enjoy a day at any of the variety of different beaches and coves along the coast. If you want a break from the sunbed there are plenty of day trips you can take to explore the beautiful medieval towns dotted around Salento and sample the amazing food and wines the region has to offer.
In the evening, savour a sun-downer on the top terrace watching the twinkling lights of Ostuni before enjoying a BBQ by the pool or trying your hand at making your own pizzas in the pizza oven. Whatever you do, you can be sure that all your senses will be awakened in this magical place. And if you want a winter getaway, the villa boasts underfloor heating and a beautiful original stone fireplace to keep you warm at night. It is truly an all year round experience.
